Galaxy S23 will be the first to use the Gorilla Glass Victus 2: Protect from drops and scratches
The layers of the upcoming Galaxy S23 series devices’ offerings are also peeling off as time passes. It is noticeable that this soon-to-be-launched device is bringing a wide lineup of upgrades with it. Its major modifications can be seen in its Camera and Display. It has been reported that this Galaxy S23 device’s Display will get the protection of Corning’s new Gorilla Glass Victus 2. So, let’s take a look at it.
As we reported before, Samsung could get the protection of the newly-launched Gorilla Glass Victus 2 on the Galaxy S23 series. Now, the company has officially confirmed that Samsung’s upcoming flagship series Galaxy S23 will be the first to feature this new protective glass. It is reported to be made with 22% ‘pre-consumer’ recycled content, which surely is a great initiative.
However, in the previous reports, it was expected that the Victus 2 would protect the device’s Display while falling from 1m, but this hasn’t been mentioned in the recent reports; they just said that it has got improved drop performance on rough surfaces like concrete. Besides, it does claim to survive the fall from a head-level height on the tarmac, and it also has the scratch resistance abilities as the original Victus.
In the manner of using Corning’s this new protective solution, the Executive Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer of Samsung MX Business, Stephanie Choi, has stated “Our next generation of flagship Galaxy smartphones are the first devices to use Corning® Gorilla® Glass Victus® 2 while offering increased durability and greater sustainability.”
