Galaxy Tab S8 series now equipped with the latest February 2023 security update

Samsung has recently started rolling out the February 2023 security patch for the Galaxy Tab S8 series, further enhancing the security of these tablet devices. This update is part of Samsung’s commitment to providing regular security updates to its users, ensuring that they are protected against the latest cyber threats.

This update brings important security fixes to address several high-impact vulnerabilities, including five critical and 43 high vulnerabilities. Additionally, eight issues that were previously included in previous updates have also been fixed in this latest patch. However, there are also four vulnerabilities that are not applicable to Samsung devices.

The Galaxy Tab S8 series comes with different firmware versions for each device. The Galaxy Tab S8 has a firmware version of X70xBXXU3BWB4, while the X80xBXXU3BWB4 for Galaxy Tab S8+ and the Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra models receiving the update on X90xBXXU3BWB4. According to SamMobile, the February 2023 security patch is currently rolling out in European countries and will soon expand to other regions.

However, Samsung is also expected to bring the One UI 5.1 update sometime next month. Users can check if an update is available for their device by following these steps:

  1. Open the “Settings” app on your Galaxy Tab S8 device.
  2. Scroll down and select “Software update.”
  3. Tap on “Download and install” to check for any available updates.
  4. If an update is available, tap on “Download and install” to start the update process.
  5. Wait for the update to download and install, which may take several minutes, depending on the size of the update.
  6. Once the update is complete, your device will restart automatically.

It’s recommended to keep your device up to date with the latest software updates to ensure that you have the latest security features and bug fixes.
