Galaxy Z Fold 2 and Galaxy Z Flip LTE/5G receiving One UI 5.1 update in the US



Samsung is rapidly expanding the One UI 5.1 update across the world, the company has pushed the update to almost every flagship device till now, and it can’t be false to say that the company has also beaten its speed of rolling out One UI 5.0.

One UI 5.1 update for Galaxy Z Flip 5G, Flip LTE, and Galaxy Z Fold 2 available in the US

As of now, the Korean giant is expanding the One UI 5.1 update to the remaining regions; the update is currently rolling out in the US for several Galaxy devices, including Galaxy Z Flip 5G, Z Flip (LTE), and Z Fold 2 5G.

The latest update brings the support of One UI 5.1, which is not a type of major update, so it brings a lot of new features. As per the changelog, the latest update adds many new functions under several system-level apps, including Camera, AR Zone, Gallery, modes, Routines, Samsung Internet, and more. Additionally, the update also brings the latest security patch in the form of a February 2023 update that fixes over 50 security vulnerabilities, the fixes are included by Google and Samsung in the form of patches, where Google’s patches target the Android OS, while Samsung’s patches target the issues of Galaxy devices.

The One UI 5.1 update comes with version number F916USQU2JWB5 for Galaxy Z Fold 2 5G. The update will be available on the locked variant of the devices, which is affiliated with Verizon. And the Galaxy Z Flip 5G and Z Flip LTE will get the same update for the unlocked variants with version numbers F707U1UEU3HWB1 and F700U1UEU5IWB1, respectively.

Camera and Gallery

Quickly change the color tone for selfies
It’s easier to change the color tone of your selfies using the Effects button at the top of the screen.

Discover Expert RAW
Expert RAW lets you take high-quality shots, perfect for those who want to have full control and edit photos later. Expert RAW is now easier to access from the More menu in Camera.

More powerful search
You can now search your Gallery for more than one person or subject at the same time. You can even search for people without tagging their names just by tapping their faces.

Enhanced image remastering
Remastering does more to make your pictures look great by removing shadows and reflections. You can also remaster GIFs for better resolution and clarity. Preview has also been improved to make it easier to compare the original picture with the remaster.

Create a shared family album
It’s easier than ever to share pictures with your family. Gallery will recommend pictures to add to your shared family album by recognizing the faces of family members you select. You get 5 GB of storage for each family member (up to 6 people).

Revamped info display
When you swipe up while viewing a picture or video in your Gallery, you can see when and where the picture was taken, which device took the picture, where the picture is stored, and more. Now with a simpler layout.


Easily minimize or switch to full screen
You can now minimize or maximize an app window without going to the options menu. Just drag one of the corners.

Access your most used apps in split screen
When you start a split-screen view, the apps you use most often will be shown below your recently used apps to help you find the apps you need faster.

Improved multitasking in DeX
In split-screen view, you can now drag the divider in the center of the screen to resize both windows. You can also snap a window to one of the corners to make it fill a quarter of the screen.

Modes and Routines

Change wallpapers based on your mode
Set a different wallpaper based on your current activity. Choose one wallpaper for work, one for exercising, and more.

More actions for routines
New actions let you control Quick Share and Touch sensitivity, change your ringtone, and change your font style.


Quick access to useful information
Check severe weather alerts, daily weather summaries, and sunrise/sunset times at the top of the Weather app. The temperature graph now uses colors to show how the temperature changes throughout the day.

Hourly precipitation graph
An hourly graph now shows how much precipitation has fallen at different times of the day.

Summary on Weather widget
A brief summary of the current weather conditions now appears on the weather widget to let you know if it’s sunny, cloudy, raining, or snowing.

Continue browsing on another device
If you’re browsing the web on one Galaxy phone or tablet and later open the Internet app on another Galaxy device signed in to the same Samsung account, a button will appear that lets you open the last webpage you were viewing on the other device.

Improved search
Your searches now include the names of bookmark folders and tab groups. Improved search logic lets you find what you’re looking for even if something isn’t spelled correctly.

Let Bixby take your calls
Use Bixby text call to answer calls automatically and find out why the person is calling. You’ll see what the caller says in a text chat, and you can tap or type responses that will be read aloud to the caller. Bixby text call is only available in English and Korean.

Check the battery level of your devices
The new Battery widget lets you check the battery level of your devices, right from the Home screen. You can see how much battery is left on your phone, Galaxy Buds, Galaxy Watch, and other supported devices.

Use up to 3 emojis in AR Emoji Camera
Take fun pictures and videos with your friends in Mask mode. You can assign a different emoji to each person’s face.

Settings suggestions
While signed in to your Samsung account, suggestions will appear at the top of the Settings screen to help you share, connect, and enhance your experience across your Galaxy devices.

Spotify suggestions
The Smart suggestions widget now recommends Spotify tracks and playlists based on your current activity. Get the perfect tunes for driving, exercising, and more. To get suggestions, you need to sign in to a Spotify account in the latest version of the Spotify app.

Choose where to save screenshots and screen recordings
You can now change the folder where screenshots and screen recordings are saved.

Samsung Galaxy A53 grabs One UI 6.1 update




Samsung is dropping back-to-back the One UI 6.1 update to eligible devices. Earlier, it had already rolled out the update to several Galaxy A series devices, including the Galaxy A54Galaxy A73, and Galaxy A15 5G. Now, a member in the form of the Galaxy A53 is joining the update.

One UI 6.1 for Galaxy A53 is spotted in some Asian countries

As of writing, the Galaxy A53 has been spotted getting the One UI 6.1 update in some Asian countries, including Indonesia and Singapore, and is expected to reach more countries in the next few days. 

The update has arrived in Asian countries with the firmware version number A536EXXU9EXDE. With the latest major update, users will not receive new security patches and will continue to use April 2024.

The One UI 6.1 update has brought several new features that will improve the overall existing features of the Galaxy devices. For instance, the One UI 6.1 update has introduced several new customization options under the different functions, including lock screens, alarms, calendars, reminders, reorder modes, a new routine, and many more. If you are using the Galaxy A53 device in the mentioned countries, then now you can update your Galaxy device to the latest version by going to the system settings, going to the software update menu, and installing the update. Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 series received the May 2024 security update




After introducing the May 2024 security patch to the Galaxy Tab S6 Lite (2022), Samsung has now rolled out the update for the latest flagship tablet, the Galaxy Tab S9 series. The update was spotted in Europe.

Users who own the Galaxy Tab S9, Galaxy Tab S9+, and Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra can identify the latest update by the firmware version numbers X716BXXS3BXE3, X816BXXS3BXE3, and X916BXXS3BXE3, respectively. The update is currently spotted in Europe for the cellular variants, and it is expected that Wi-Fi variants will get the same update in the next few days. According to the official changelog, the update doesn’t bring any visual changes, but it will fix some internal issues. 

According to the official documentation, the latest update will provide more than 50 foxes, whereas as usual, Google and Samsung have both actively added patches to improve the overall performance of Galaxy devices against security flaws.

Moreover, recently these devices have grabbed the One UI 6.1 update, so if you are getting any issues after installing the update, then you should update the device to the latest version as it may improve the working of the devices.

Samsung One UI May 2024 security Patch released for these Galaxy devices so far




Since the start of the month, Samsung has been busy providing the One UI 6.1 update to eligible Galaxy devices, so it has delayed providing the May 2024 security patch to them. However, it still successfully started rolling out the update for the Galaxy S24 series, and then it expanded the update to more devices. 

The May 2024 security patch update for Galaxy devices doesn’t bring any significant changes for the devices, but it will provide some enhancements for the security of the devices. According to the official documentation, the latest patch has brought more than 50 fixes. More specifically, Google has introduced 31 patches that enhance the functioning of the Android system, and along with this, there are 25 extra patches included by Samsung that address the issues found in the last update.

Moreover, the May 2024 update is part of a monthly security patch program run by Google, which only aims to make the device capable against the different types of cyber scams that may steal personal data, so if you are conscious of your data, then you should keep your device up to date with the latest version.
