Samsung is very active in terms of distributing new updates; after quickly serving the One UI 5.1 for the eligible devices and then the company started serving March 2023 security patches, it is also worth mentioning that some devices have received both new updates together in a single update, but Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Z Flip 3 are receiving it as a separate update. Both devices have already received the One UI 5.1 update previously.

The latest update for Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Z Flip 3 can be identified by the build version numbers F711BXXS4EWB5 and F926BXXS3EWB5, respectively. The update is currently rolling out in the European regions.

The March 2023 update includes several new patches, which are added by Google and Samsung; in which Google has added 40 patches that fix several types of inbuilt functions of Android OS, which may be vulnerable and easy to get hacked. It also includes some extra patches which are included by Samsung that resolve some security issues which were reported earlier.

The Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Flip 3 devices were launched back in 2021; both of the devices come with One UI 3.0, which is based on Android 11; later, these devices received two more Android updates and currently running on Android 13. Lastly, these devices have received the One UI 5.1 update, which is almost reached every region. Samsung has promised to give four Android updates with the new policy, so they are eligible for two more androids which means you will get Android updates up to Android 15.

To install the latest update, you can simply tap on the notification flashing in the notification panel, or you can also check it manually by following these steps:

After introducing the May 2024 security patch update in the US region for the Galaxy S24 series, Samsung has expanded the latest security update to the European region as well. It is in the initial stage, so the update is live for limited units, but it will be fully expanded to the whole region in the coming days.

Notably, the Galaxy S24, Galaxy S24+, and Galaxy S24 Ultra are getting the May 2024 security patch in Europe with the firmware version numbers S921BXXS2AXD6, S926BXXS2AXD6, and S928BXXS2AXD6, respectively. The latest update for the Galaxy S24 brings a new set of security enhancements. In a nutshell, there are more than 50 fixes, and Google has included 31 fixes that target bringing extra protection to the Android ecosystem. Along with this, the Korean giant also added 25 more patches that enhance the security of Galaxy devices exclusively.

Moreover, the latest update is coming with a software package of 452.81 MB, which indicates that Samsung may not add any innovative changes for smartphones, but it is expected that the latest software may bring some internal function improvements that will level your experience while using the device.

If you are using the Galaxy S24 device in Europe, a new notification should arrive on your smartphone to alert you about fresh software availability. But if you don’t receive any such notification, you can also check it manually by navigating to the system settings and selecting the software update menu.

Samsung Tests New Firmware for Galaxy XCover 5, Potential Camera Fix

Published

Last week we reported about the problems faced by Galaxy XCover 5 users after installing the One UI 6.0 update. Now it seems that the company may start working to bring improvements with the upcoming update.

For your information, after installing the One UI 6.0 and Android 14 update on the Galaxy XCover 5, users have faced an annoying camera, which has affected the autofocus functionality of the camera, and therefore users are not able to capture sharp photos.

Now, according to the Galaxy Club, Samsung is working on developing a new Android 14 firmware for the rugged smartphone. However, the Korean giant hasn’t confirmed it officially yet, but most probably the new firmware should bring fixes to the camera functioning of the devices.

As of now, there is no information available about the availability of the next significant update. However, when Samsung starts rolling out, we will immediately update you about it, so stay tuned.

It is worth noticing that the Galaxy XCover 5 is one of those devices that got the major One UI 6.0 update pretty late. Samsung has already started rolling out the One UI 6.1 update for several eligible devices. The rugged device is also eligible to get the same update, but based on the speed of expansion of One UI 6.1, it seems like the device may not receive the update anytime soon.

Samsung is known for its faster update rollout for Galaxy devices, and sometimes it beats Google in terms of the latest software availability. But this time with the One UI 6.1, it seems like the company is taking longer than usual to expand it due to some issues similar to those Galaxy S22 users have recently encountered. but the company has taken quick action and provided improved software with new updates. Now it looks like the company has brought an incremental update for the Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Galaxy Z Flip 4 devices after a major UI update.

Firmware details

The fresh updates for the Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Galaxy Z Flip 4 were spotted in South Korea with the firmware version numbers F936NKSU2FXE3 and F721NKSU2FXE3, respectively. The latest update is coming with a software package of 341.84 MB. It is using the same security patch level in the form of an April 2024 patch.

What’s new

According to the changelog, the latest device update will include some new application code that will improve the overall security of the devices. The software package doesn’t appear to introduce any significant changes, but we anticipate that the update will address issues that may be specific to certain users.

If you are using the Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Galaxy Z Flip 4 smartphones, then you can now install the latest update. To do it manually, first go to the system settings, then tap on the software update. If you receive any updates, install them by hitting the download button. If the update hasn’t arrived yet on your device, then wait for some time.
