US Carrier-locked Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Flip 4 get Image Clipper feature
Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Galaxy Z Flip 4 owners in the US can now enjoy the Image Clipper feature, thanks to the latest firmware update from Samsung. The update with the F936USQU2CWCC and F721USQU2CWCC firmware for carrier-locked models of T-Mobile and MetroPCS is rather hefty at almost 1GB in size. This update includes the latest April 2023 security patches and brings the Image Clipper function to the two devices.
The Image Clipper feature is part of the Samsung Gallery and allows users to quickly crop out specific subjects from photos, such as people, pets, cars, and flowers. Once the subject is isolated, it can be saved and shared separately as a sticker. Users can simply press and hold the desired subject within a photo or image to use the feature without the need to activate anything.
Samsung Image Clipper function: How to use, and eligible Galaxy devices
The Image Clipper function was initially launched as an exclusive feature on the Galaxy S23 series. However, Samsung has started rolling out the feature to older flagship devices, including the Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Galaxy Z Flip 4. However, the company already rolled out the update for Australian users a week ago. This is great news for owners of these devices, who can now enjoy the latest image editing feature without having to upgrade to a new phone.
The April 2023 security patches included in this update are also significant. According to Samsung’s bulletin, the patches fix a total of 55 security flaws found inside Android devices, 4 of which are critical. Additionally, the update addresses 15 flaws found in Samsung devices. This shows Samsung’s commitment to providing its customers with the latest security updates and improving the overall user experience.
Last week, Samsung initiated the May 2024 security patch with the Galaxy S24 series devices. Now, it has started expanding the update to more devices, like the Galaxy S22 series.
Notably, the Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22+, and Galaxy S22 Ultra devices are getting a May 2024 security patch with the firmware version numbers S901BXXSAEXE3, S906BXXSAEXE3, and S908BXXSAEXE3, respectively. As of writing, the update has been spotted in the European regions and is expected to be available in more regions in the next few days.
The May 2024 security patch for Galaxy S22 devices doesn’t bring any new features or changes, but it will surely bring some enhancements that will strengthen the security mechanisms of the Galaxy devices, and therefore it is coming in a small software package of 270.07 MB. Along with this, it may also bring some fixes for the issues that appeared in previous software updates.
