Unlocked Galaxy S20 gets June 2023 security update in the US

Samsung has a lot of high-end devices in its catalogue which is still eligible for new security updates, so without any discrimination, the company is rolling out the update to its older devices as well, proving its responsibility company has rolled out the June 2023 security update for the Galaxy S20 series devices. 

The June 2023 security update brings many fixes for the security loophole found in the device. The update will work as a shield that protects your device from external threats like malware which can harm your device. So it is very significant to update your device to the latest security patch.

Will Galaxy S20 and S20 FE get One UI 6 (Android 14) update?

Users who own Galaxy S20, Galaxy S20+ and Galaxy S20 Ultra can identify the latest update by the firmware versions G981U1UES5HWE1, G986U1UES5HWE1 and G988U1UES5HWE1 respectively. It is worth noticing that the update is only available for the carrier-unlocked variant of the devices. The update has now available on almost all of the carriers in the US.

The Galaxy S20 series devices were introduced back in 2020; these devices came with Android 10 preloaded. Later the devices received three more major updates, so now the devices are running on Android 13 based One UI 5.1. After this, the devices will no longer be eligible for any major Android update; however, it will still get more updates in the form of security updates in the future.
