Samsung Updates Galaxy A Quantum with June 2023 patch with improved SOS function and location accuracy
Samsung is now rolling out the June 2023 security update for the Galaxy A Quantum devices, also known as Galaxy A71 5G. Earlier, the update has already served in the UAE; now, it is expanding to South Korea and expected that the update will be available in other parts of the world in the coming days.
The June 2023 security update comes with the firmware version A716SKSU6FWF2. As per official documentation from Samsung, the latest security patch includes over 60 patches that improve the overall security of the device. However, the update is not limited to security fixes. It also includes some more improvements for the functions.
June 2023 update improves SOS function and location accuracy
According to the changelog, the latest security update includes improvements for the SOS function; the SOS function will always be active, and the Countdown function can be turned on or off. The accuracy of location is also improved, which will help the rescue team to get the exact location of people in emergency cases.
The Galaxy A71 5G is only eligible for biannual updates, so the June 2023 update may be the last update for the device for this year because it has received the last security update as February 2023 security update with the One UI 5.1 update.
The Galaxy A71 5G was released back in 2020; it came with Android 10; later, the device got three more major updates, and currently, the device is running on Android 13. As the device was released before the four-year policy upgrade, it will not be able to get further Android updates; however, it may get some more security updates in the coming months.
