Recently, the Korean tech giant has started rolling out the big camera update for Galaxy S23 and started with Europe, Asia, and the United States. But now the update reaches Canada for all three modes of the Galaxy S23 series, including Galaxy S23 base, Galaxy S23+, and Galaxy S23 Ultra.

Galaxy S23 series gets Camera and June 2023 update in Canada

The latest update comes with June 2023 security patch; however, it is not only limited to it but also brings some new functionalities and fixes for the camera. The new firmware update brings the 2X zoom for portrait mode, smoother One UI transition animations, fixes camera autofocus issues, and improves the haptic feedback. The update carries firmware versions S911WVLU1AWF3, S916WVLU1AWF3, and S918WVLU1AWF3 respectively.

Digging deeper, you can also notice a further change: the manufacturer seems to have removed the ability to disable the emergency SOS function, which allows you to start a call to your chosen emergency number by quickly pressing the power button five times. Of course, the other options remain, which allow you to activate a countdown, play a sound and share the location with emergency contacts. The change could be part of the June news, and therefore it is possible that it has been integrated into the other Samsung models as well.

It is worth noticing the new update for the Canadian units of the Galaxy S23 series is coming with a new firmware version as AWF3, while for the other countries, it was coming with AWF1. It indicates that it may be a more improved version of the new update. The download required by the new update is about 2.2 GB, so it is implied that the news does not stop there.

If you are a Samsung Galaxy S23 user from Canada, now you can install the June 2023 update on your devices. To install it, you can simply tap on the notification, which is available at the top of the notification panel; in case you didn’t receive the notification yet, you can also install it manually by going to the software update menu through the system settings.
