Generation17 is an initiative that Samsung developed in partnership with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) to support young changemakers who strive to achieve the 17 Global Goals. In 2015, the UN classified the terms of global goals in accordance with poverty, inequality, climate change, environmental degradation, and peace and justice. This initiative searches for young passionate ones to carry this global task -17 sustainable development goals. Today Samsung revealed three newly elected members of Generation17. The addition of these three Young Leaders will help educate people about critical global challenges and the solutions needed to deliver a more prosperous future.
Generation17 Member 1: Zubair Junjunia from the United Kingdom – Being an inventor of ZNotes, he is a social entrepreneur and aims for universal education accessible to students.
“I was inspired to build an education platform after witnessing the uneven playing field of education. We must empower youth to create an equitable education system, which is why I am excited to join Generation17 and bring awareness to global education challenges and inspire young people to stand up for causes they believe in.”

Additionally, for better enhancement of the initiative, Samsung and UNDP have convened 17 Young Leaders from Asia, Africa, Europe, Latin America, the Middle East, and North America to work on problems that touch on all 17 of the Global Goals in the early stage. Generation17 has set high hopes since the two organizations’ collaboration in 2019 developed the Samsung Global Goals app, a mobile education and contribution platform that educates users about the Global Goals.
