WearOS-based Galaxy Watches receiving new Google Map update with improvements

Update: Google has rolled out a new update for the Maps app specifically designed for WearOS-based smartwatches. This update is also compatible with Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 and Galaxy Watch 5 Series. The latest version, 11.85.0503.W, comes with an installation package size of 15 MB.

The recent Google Maps update focuses on resolving known issues, ensuring a smoother and bug-free user experience. While no new features or changes have been introduced in this update, users can expect enhanced performance after installing the latest version.

Google has released a new update for its Map application for Wear OS. As you know that currently, Samsung has only two Watches in its lineup, which run on Wear OS; therefore, the new update is limited to Galaxy Watch 5 and Galaxy Watch 4.

The latest update comes with version number 11.85.0502.W. According to the official changelog, the latest update improves the function that helps you discover new places and navigate to them. Apart from these, there are no other extra features added to the app.

The Google Map update is available for all the models of Galaxy Watch 4, including the base and Classic, as well as for Galaxy Watch 5, including the base and pro.

To install the latest update on your watches, follow the below steps:

  1. Firstly open the Google Play store on Galaxy Watch
  2. Scroll down and tap on Manage Apps
  3. Here find Google Maps (if the update is available for your watch, it will be available there)
  4. If it is available, then hit the update button.
