Samsung has recently introduced a major update to its Galaxy watches in the form of One UI 5 watch beta. The update includes some significant changes and added new features; for instance, now users can back up and restore the watch data and create their own watch face with watch face studio and many more. Now to enhance the functionality and strengthen the security, a new update is available for both Galaxy Watch 4 and Galaxy Watch 5.
June 2023 security update is now available for Galaxy Watch 4 and Watch 5
Samsung has released a new security update for the Galaxy Watch 4 and Galaxy Watch 5 series watches. The new update includes all new patches under June 2023 update. However, the official changelog doesn’t give any description of the changes, but it is expected that it will improve the functionality and security of the watches.
Samsung released the update in Europe
This time Samsung has started updating the Galaxy watches from European countries. Currently, the update is spotted in the LTE variant of these watches (Galaxy Watch 4 and Galaxy Watch 5). The new software update comes with different version numbers according to the variant of watches.
Samsung One UI 5 Watch WearOS 4 Update Tracker For Galaxy Watches
The Galaxy Watch 5’s 40mm and 44mm variants are getting the update with firmware versions R905FXXS1AWG1 and R915FXXS1AWG1, respectively. At the same time, the Galaxy Watch 5’s Pro variant is receiving the update with the firmware version R925FXXS1AWG1.
The Galaxy Watch 4 base is available in two variants, including 40mm and 44mm, so they are getting the same update with version numbers R865FXXS1GWG1 and R875FXXS1GWG1, respectively. Meanwhile, the Galaxy Watch 4 classic’s 42 mm and 46 mm variants are grabbing the update with this firmware versions R885FXXS1GWG1 and R895FXXS1GWG1 sequentially.
Installation
Users who own Galaxy Watch 4 or Galaxy Watch 5 series watches can easily install the update by following the below steps:
- Go to settings in the Galaxy wearable app
- Click on Watch software update
- Then hit the download and install button.
