Samsung Galaxy Watch 6 started getting initial firmware update

In the recent Galaxy unpacked event, Samsung launched its foldable devices, including Galaxy Z Flip 5 and Galaxy Z Fold 5, along with the company has also introduced a new series of smartwatches, the Galaxy Watch 6. The latest Galaxy Watch 6 series is available in two models: the base and the classic. Now these watches are receiving the new firmware.

Verizon releases new update for Galaxy Watch 6

The Galaxy Watch 6 is getting new firmware updates on all the variants of watches. You can verify identification with the firmware version numbers, such as for Galaxy Watch 6 Classic: R955USQU1AWG1 (43mm) / R965USQU1AWG1 (47mm). While the base variant is getting the update with these numbers R935USQU1AWG1 (40mm) / R945USQU1AWG1 (44mm). It is worth noticing that the update is only available for Verizon-affiliated watches.

What’s in the update

According to the official Verizon page, the latest update doesn’t bring any new features for the watch. Instead, it says the update includes some improvements for your device. So we can easily say that the update is a general maintenance app which improves the internal functions of the watches.

Installation

To download this update, you need to go to the Galaxy wearable app from the connected Android smartphone and then go into the Watch settings; now tap on the Watch software update, and if the update is available, then tap on the Download and Install button.
