Samsung Galaxy Note 20 grabs August 2023 security update
Samsung is now rolling out an August 2023 security update for the Galaxy Note 20 device. The update rollout session started last week and has already reached several devices, including the Galaxy S23.
The latest software update for the Galaxy Note 20 and Galaxy Note 20 Ultra is now live in China and European markets. The August 2023 security update doesn’t bring anything new for the device because it does not belong to One UI but comes as a security maintenance update.
For your information, the security maintenance update brings some new fixes for the devices that strengthen the overall function of the devices that work as a security wall against external threats.
The Galaxy Note 20 and Note 20 Ultra are getting a new update in China with firmware versions N9810ZSS6HWG8 and N9860ZSS6HWG8, respectively. While in Some southeast European markets, the Galaxy Note 20 and Note 20 Ultra are receiving the new update with build numbers N981FXXS8HWH3 and N986FXXS8HWH3 sequentially.

The latest security patch includes 85 security vulnerability fixes. From those, Google included 50 patches to resolve the issues found. Additionally, Samsung has also added 38 more patches for the betterment of the Galaxy devices.
Samsung launched the Galaxy Note 20 series of devices in 2020. The device came with Android 10 on board. The company has promised to provide three years of Android updates and five years of security updates. So the device will not get any major updates, but you can still expect to see more security updates for many years.
