Breaking: Galaxy S23 Series started receiving One UI 5.1.1 update
Verizon has started rolling out the One UI 5.1.1 update for the Galaxy S23 devices. It is not the same update that is available for the other large-screen devices; it comes with some limited changes under two system applications. Let’s know about it.
One UI 5.1.1 update brings new changes to the Messages and Calls background functions
Call background: With the One UI 5.1.1 update, the call background menu was moved to the contact details, so to access it now, you have to select a contact and then touch three dots here to get the edit call background option.
Messages: Now when you share an image with the Samsung Messages app, it will show you two tabs: one for conversations and the other for contacts, which will give you easy access.
Apart from the One UI 5.1.1 skin, the update also includes the latest security patch in the form of August 2023. It brings several security vulnerability fixes that give your device a performance and stability boost.
It is worth noticing that the update is available for the carrier-locked variants of the Galaxy S23 series. Users who own the Galaxy S23, Galaxy S23+, and Galaxy S23 Ultra can identify the latest update by the firmware version numbers S911USQU1AWGH, S916USQU1AWGH, and S918USQU1AWGH, respectively.
As Verizon has already rolled out the update for the devices, users should get an alert on their device regarding update availability. However, if you don’t get the notification yet, you can also check it manually by going to the system settings, selecting the software update menu, and tapping the download and install button. After this, wait until it finishes searching, and if it shows a new update available, hit the download button.
