Samsung is rolling out the August 2023 security update to the Galaxy S20 FE 5G and Galaxy Note 20 devices. Earlier, the company had already updated several devices, ranging from entry-level to flagship devices.
It is worth noticing that both of the devices have already reached the limit of getting major updates, but still, both are eligible for the security patch updates. Currently, these devices are receiving the new security update in India and Europe.
Users who own the Galaxy S20 FE 5G in India can identify the latest update by the firmware version number G781BXXS7HWH2. While the Galaxy Note 20 and Note 20 Ultra are getting the update with firmware version numbers N981BXXS8HWH7 and N986BXXS8HWH7, respectively.
Meanwhile, the European LTE units of the Galaxy Note 20 and Note 20 Ultra are receiving the same update with firmware version numbers N980FXXS8HWH3 and N986FXXS8HWH3, respectively. Additionally, the 5G variants of the Galaxy Note 20 and Note 20 Ultra are getting the update with version numbers N981BXXS8HWH3 and N986BXXS8HWH3, respectively.
The latest update brings an August 2023 security patch; it is the latest patch for Galaxy devices. Do not expect much with this update; it will not bring any changes to the UI or significant features. However, being a security patch, it will enhance the overall security of the Galaxy devices.
Users who own Galaxy S20 FE 5G and Galaxy Note 20 series devices should get the notification on their devices; however, it may take some time to reach every device across India and Europe. Amid this, you can also check the update availability on your device through system settings.
