Samsung brings second August 2023 update for Galaxy S21 Series

Samsung users are always ahead in getting new updates, even after some delays. The company still beats most Android smartphone makers in updating the devices to the August 2023 security update. Now Galaxy S21 series devices are getting a second August update.

What’s new with the second August update?

The second update doesn’t come with any new changelog; as per the changelog, the update has improved the stability and reliability of functions, and the security of the device is also enhanced. However, it doesn’t give any clue about which functions are now free from issues, but it is expected that it may improve the changes made in the last update. For your information, Samsung has improved the SOS and Countdown functions, and the location accuracy was also improved.

The latest update for the Galaxy S21, Galaxy S21+, and Galaxy S21 Ultra comes with firmware version numbers G991BXXU9EWH5, G996BXXU9EWH5 and G998BXXU9EWH5 respectively. The update was spotted in Switzerland, and it is expected that it will soon be available in more European countries.

The Galaxy S21 was introduced back in 2021, and the device comes with Android 11. Samsung has promised to give at least three major updates, and later expanded it for one more update with the latest software update policy, which means the device will get new Android updates up to Android 15.
