Samsung announced 4TB SSD 990 PRO Series: Check out features and prices

Published

on

A new 4-terabyte (TB) SSD from Samsung’s SSD 990 PRO series has just been released. Samsung’s eighth-generation V-NAND (V8) technology and improved proprietary controller power the 990 PRO series of high-performance PCIe 4.0 SSDs. The 990 PRO series is considered the best SSD for today’s PCs, laptops, gaming consoles, and computing systems since it is geared for enormous data quantities, such as those required by 3D/4K graphics work, data analytics, and high-quality games.

With higher total bytes written (TBW) values of up to 2,400 TB, the 990 PRO series promises better SSD reliability and lifespan, making it the perfect choice for users with heavy workloads and high storage capacity requirements. The 4TB 990 PRO has a smaller profile compared to double-sided M.2 SSDs, all thanks to the V8 1TB high-density NAND and the company’s memory stacking technology. With a single-sided M.2 form factor, the efficient design offers a lot of storage and long-lasting performance.

Further, the 4TB 990 PRO greatly decreases mid-game delays and speeds up the loading of high-quality films, enhancing gamers experiences. It will boast the highest random read performance among consumer SSDs with a PCIe 4.0 interface. Also, it delivers nera-max performance in a PCIe 4.0 interface, with sequential read rates and write rates of up to 1,600 K and 1,500 K IOPS3, which is great for gamers and creative professionals. Users may take advantage of real-time gameplay experiences with consistently high frames per second (FPS) because of the 990 PRO series’ ability to reduce latency.

By maintaining firmware and supporting RGB functionality for the 990 PRO with Heatsink, the Samsung Magician software assures maximum performance in SSDs and gives gamers the opportunity to personalize color and LED effects. The next Magician 8.0 version, scheduled for release in September 2023, will be an integrated software solution for SSDs, portable SSDs, memory cards, and USB flash drives. The 990 PRO series by up to 50% in terms of performance, achieving ground-breaking power efficiency.

As the demand for high-resolution content and ultra-fast data-processing speeds continues to grow, high-performance NVMe2 storage has become a core requirement.”

The Korean brand ‘Samsung’ has expanded the power bank family by introducing two brand new power banks with a new design language, and finally, both are available in the United States.

Samsung initially introduced these two new power banks in its home country, South Korea, back in March 2024. Both power banks feature a different battery capacity.

  • 10,000mAh with 25W support
  • 20,000mAh with 45W support

You can grab the new 25W, 10,000mAh Wireless Battery Pack (EB-U2510) from Samsung for $44.99. On the other hand, the 45W 20,000mAh Battery Pack (EB-P4520) is priced at $29.99. This time, the Korean giant has offered a one-color option for both power banks, which is a ‘beige” color. The giant has added four LEDs for status indication on both power banks, and has received UL certification for safety.

In the United States, interested parties can easily buy them from Samsung.com. The 25W, 10,000mAh Wireless Battery Pack has two USB Type-C ports for charging other devices, as well as a battery pack. While connecting one device, it maxes out at 25W of power. If you use two USB Type-C ports together, the power output drops to 15W and 10W for the two ports, respectively.

When you use both USB Type-C ports and wireless charging, the power output drops to 10W + 10W + 5W. It comes with a USB Type-C to USB Type-C 3X charging cable.

Jumping on the 45W 20,000mAh Battery Pack, it features three USB Type-C ports and can reach a maximum power output of 45W. It has the power to charge three devices together at 15W each, and it arrives bundled with a 5A USB Type-C charging cable.

Samsung Is Setting Up For ‘Galaxy Glasses’; New Patent

Published

Samsung has bigger plans to expand its smart wearable family beyond expectations, as Galaxy Glasses are next in line.

Samsung, apart from the forthcoming sixth-generation foldable Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Galaxy Z Flip 6 Galaxy Ringdevices, which are supposed to debut at the Galaxy Unpacked Event 2024 in July, is also busy expanding the wearable area by debuting a brand new smart glasses.

Back in 2023, Samsung had already trademarked the name for its smart glasses, Galaxy Glasses, from which reports regarding this are blowing. And now the recent reports are unveiling that Samsung has now filed a patent with the World Intellectual Property Organization for its smart glasses.

It is being speculated by Patently Apple that the patent displays the potential design of smart glasses by Samsung along with its charging case. Although the design of the glasses does not appear to be too different from the usual spectacles, For more details, the patent reveals some technical details about it.

The patent is revealing that the lenses are housed in their default place, but the left rim of them has magnetic connection points that will permit the glasses to charge while placed on their cover. The batteries are placed at each temple tip. Curiously, the patent makes no mention of cameras or sensors—components generally expected in XR devices.

Probably the patent will focus simply on the physical design. Samsung might file separate subsequent patents covering the more complex technical aspects of an invention. For now, nothing more has been revealed; the patent only reveals some insights, and it’s too early to say if Samsung will launch this product.

However, Samsung has not unveiled anything regarding the smartphone officially yet, but it is expected that some news from Tipster and the brand will get revealed soon.
