While waiting for the arrival of stable One UI 6, which Samsung could release in October, the other manufacturers don’t stand idly by and release new security patches for several of Android’s smartphones. We are of course talking about Samsung, which is always among the most active in this regard and is distributing the latest security fixes to its several Galaxy devices.

Samsung just put out a security update for some of their phones in the US. These phones are the Galaxy Z Fold 4, Galaxy Z Flip 4, Galaxy Z Fold 3, Galaxy Z Flip 3, and Galaxy Note 20 series. You can get this update if you have a phone that’s locked to a specific carrier or if your phone is unlocked. Samsung also released this update in Europe yesterday.

These Galaxy devices will no longer receive major updates after One UI 6 and Android 14

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Galaxy Z Flip 4 are also updated in the US with the September 2023 security patches; in distribution, there are the firmwares F936USQS3DWH9 and F721USQS3DWH9, respectively. And it’s currently available on Xfinity Mobile, Comcast, Spectrum Mobile, Verizon, and US Cellular networks. All these folds will receive Android 14 and OneUI 6.0 in the coming months.

Similar updates are being distributed for other foldable smartphones in the Flip and Fold ranges. The distribution concerns the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Galaxy Z Flip 3. Here, too, the September 2023 security patches are being rolled out, leading to fixes to the aforementioned vulnerabilities and some generic improvements to system stability and performance. In these cases, the firmware distributed carrier-locked by Verizon is F926USQGS4GWH9 and F711USQS5GWH9.
