Unlocked Galaxy S22 gets October 2023 security update in the US
Samsung has once again demonstrated its commitment to user security by rolling out the October 2023 security update for its unlocked Galaxy S22 series in the United States.
Samsung Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22+, and Galaxy S22 Ultra are the third South Korean home smartphones to receive October 2023 security patches. The updates are being distributed starting in the United States for Unlocked models with the S901U1UES3CWI1, S906U1UES3CWI1, and S908U1UES3CWI1 firmware (respectively) and bring the aforementioned fixes combined with some generic stability improvements.
For more substantial news, the company has already released the One UI 6 beta program for these models in limited regions, and the stable version is coming soon.
The October 2023 security update for the Galaxy S22 series is not just a routine maintenance patch. It packs a punch by addressing over 40 security flaws, reinforcing the device’s defenses against potential vulnerabilities.
For its devices, Samsung implemented 12 of the 34 fixes released by Google in October’s security patches. Most of the corrected vulnerabilities are at a high or moderate level, but there are a couple at a critical level (CVE-2023-28581 and CVE-2023-40129).
