Galaxy A53 and Galaxy A54 getting October 2023 security update in the US
For the past few days, Samsung has been rapidly rolling out new updates for eligible Galaxy devices. It is currently working on introducing the latest security patch in the form of an October 2023 update. In the first wave, Samsung introduced the update to several high-end devices, and now it is rolling out the update to more midrange devices, including the Galaxy A53 and Galaxy A54 devices.
The October 2023 update is the tenth security patch update of this year. It was initially designed by Google and brings several new fixes that enhance the overall security of the devices. In detail, there are nearly four dozen fixes introduced, of which 34 were added by Google, which resolved the issues related to the Android OS. Along with this, Samsung also added 12 more patches that exclusively fix the security vulnerabilities related to the Galaxy devices.

Moreover, the latest update for the Galaxy A53 and A54 may also bring some more improvements that bring several new enhancements for the performance and stability of the Galaxy devices. So if you are having any issues or are observing lag in your device, then you should update the device to the latest version, which may resolve it and make the functioning of the device more smooth.
Currently, the October 2023 update is live for the Galaxy A54 and Galaxy A53 in the US. The Galaxy A54’s locked and unlocked variants are getting a new update with firmware version numbers A546USQS5AWJ1 and A546U1UES5AWI3, respectively. While the Galaxy A53 locked variant is getting the same update with firmware version number A536USQS8CWI1.
If you are using a Galaxy A54 or Galaxy A53 series device in the US, then you should start getting notifications about the new update, but if you haven’t received a notification yet, you can manually check the update by going to the software update menu in the main system settings.
