Samsung has been in the race to release One UI 6.0 to every eligible Galaxy device in recent weeks. At times, while installing major software, it is possible for some issues to occur on the device. Something similar has happened with a few Galaxy smartphones after receiving the stable version of the Android 14-based One UI 6.0 update. The appearance of the purple screen is the issue; this might make you remember the issue where green lines appeared on the screen. However, it is not something related to hardware, as it is just a software issue that is said to have solutions.
What’s concerning the users?
Some of the users who have received the One UI 6 update seem to experience the purple screen that lasts for a few seconds when they try to manually switch between one application and another. The background part of the screen goes totally purple without showing the selected wallpaper. This problem seems to arise when you use the Home Up Good Lock app and its background color customization function, which lets you choose the backdrop color of the recent app screen, as per one user report that surfaced online from Reddit.
But we can’t control things with this, and based on our analysis so far, it doesn’t seem to be the reason for everyone. This isn’t the case on a Galaxy S23 Ultra and a Galaxy Z Fold 5, since it is unable to reproduce the problem on these devices either with or without the Good Lock software.
Samsung will be coming up with a solution for this issue.
However, this issue can be left rest assured, as the Samsung Moderator acknowledged the issue by stating that they are aware of the purple screen issue that occurs briefly when switching from the recent app screen to the home screen. I added that a fix is on the way in that upcoming update at the end of this month. The moderator has not implied anything about which model will be the first to fix this issue; maybe we should wait for further news.
