Samsung is constantly rolling out the One UI 6 update for Galaxy devices. In the recent wave, the Korean giant has updated several devices irrespective of their price range or availability in different countries, but as you know, the US market is very different as it has some carrier restrictions that make the devices delay getting the updates that are already available in other countries. This is the same happening with the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Galaxy Z Flip 5 smartphones.

Notably, the Galaxy Z Fold 5 has started getting the update on some carriers, including AT&T and US Cellular, for the locked variants. It is coming with the firmware version number F946USQU1BWK9. While the Galaxy Z Flip 5 is getting the same update, it is limited to the locked variants, which carry a different firmware version number, F731USQU1BWK9. This device has also received the update for the unlocked variant with firmware version F731U1QU1BWK9.

The One UI 6 update is the latest significant update for Galaxy devices, as it has brought several new features and improvements that will become part of several existing system-level applications, including Weather, Camera, Gallery, Photo Editor, Calendar, and many more.

The latest update also grabs the new security patch update, which is coming in the form of the November 2023 patch. It will enhance the overall security of the device and protect it from external threats.

If you are using any of the devices, including the Galaxy Z Fold 5 or Galaxy Z Flip 5 in the US, then you can easily update it. Just open the main settings, tap on the software update, and select the download and install button. Now wait until it finishes searching, and if it shows a new update available, then tap on the download button.
