Since the initial week of the month, Samsung has been rolling out the December 2023 security update for the Galaxy devices. As it doesn’t follow any specific pattern for serving the update, it has randomly distributed the update to the devices. Now the US-based Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Galaxy Z Flip 5 are starting to get new updates.

The latest update for the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Galaxy Flip 5 is available for the locked and unlocked variants. Users who own the locked variants can identify the latest update by the firmware version numbers F946USQS1BWKI and F731USQS1BWKI respectively. It is currently spotted on T-Mobile, MetroPCS, and US Cellular network carriers and is expected to be available on the remaining networks in the coming days.

Meanwhile, the unlocked variants for the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Galaxy Z Flip 5 are getting new updates with the firmware version numbers F946U1UES1BWKI and F731U1UES1BWKI, respectively.

The December 2023 update is one of the parts of the Google maintenance program that aims to provide security-related enhancements for Android devices. At the same time, for Galaxy devices, Samsung also provides some additional fixes for improving the security of its devices exclusively.
