Samsung has rolled out the December 2023 update to the Galaxy Watch 4 series, but it was limited to the Bluetooth version only. Now it has started expanding the update to the LTE variant as well. Earlier, the US-based Galaxy Watch 4 and Galaxy Watch 5 models were updated.

The update for the Galaxy Watch 4 doesn’t bring any new features or innovations for the devices, but it will provide some security-related enhancements for the watches, so it can protect your important data. The latest update for the Galaxy Watch 4 is currently spotted in South Korea and will be soon available to other remaining units in the coming days.

For identification, users can easily verify the update by the firmware version numbers. The Galaxy Watch 4’s 40mm and 44mm variants are getting a new update with the version numbers R865NKOU1CWL1 and R875NKOU1CWL1, respectively. The classic model of the Galaxy Watch 4’s 42mm and 46mm variants are receiving the same update with the version numbers R885NKOU1CWL1 and R895NKOU1CWL1, respectively.

According to the official changelog, it will come with some new changes under the internal functions for strengthening security, but as per the previous unit’s updates, it will also bring changes to the names of the applications. After installing the update, the Samsung name will be removed from the name.

If you are using the Galaxy Watch 4 LTE series of watches in South Korea, then you can easily update to the latest version. To check the latest update on your smartwatch, you have to simply visit the Galaxy Wearable and go to the software update section. If the update is available, it will start downloading.
