Galaxy S23, Fold 5, Flip 5 will also get a Taste of Galaxy S24’s AI Prowess
Samsung made available its latest Android update, One UI 6.0, to all its eligible devices, ranging from mid-range to flagship series, before the end of 2023. Now the next significant update based on Android 14 is on the line, which will be released with the Galaxy S24 series and One UI 6.1. After the release of the newer flagship series, the other eligible devices will receive the One UI 6.1 update. Just like One UI 6.0, the update varies based on the user’s residing area. January 18, 2024, is the mentioned date for the arrival of the Galaxy S24 series as well as the One UI 6.1 Android software.
As we all know, the Galaxy AI will be behind all those AI-integrated features in the Galaxy S24 series. Now the question arises: will all those features be present on the other eligible devices? It is also predicted that some features will be charged a cost, like membership services. Another major question is whether some features will remain exclusive to the newly launched Snapdragon and Exynos processes of the Galaxy S24 series, so these features may be excluded. The integration of artificial intelligence into smartphones also requires the latest processors that will enable the running of AI features on the particular device.
Several mid-range smartphones run on older processors, so the arrival of the next software update is in doubt here. However, we can undoubtedly predict One UI 6.1 to arrive on the latestly released models, such as the Galaxy S23 series, the Galaxy Z Flip 5, and the Z Fold 5. Also, there are rumors that the business is currently planning to release the next Android update on these devices, and the preparations are going on. We are not aware of every feature that will be available on One UI 6.1; only a few features, such as live translation calls and changes in weather widgets, are known.
We have to wait for the Galaxy S24 series to be released to get a good look at what the new software brings in. Irrespective of the flagship and A series, One UI 6.0 was made available to a number of Galaxy devices, tablets, and foldables. The only question is whether Samsung will be able to make the same number for the One UI 6.1 update. Given that some AI functions may not function properly without the newest Snapdragon and Exynos CPUs, which have greater machine learning and AI processing capabilities.
