Move Over, Android 13! Android 14 is the New Boss in Town

Published

on

Google finally rolls out the Android 14 update, and users can experience the features after installing the update. The Big G literally took a longer time to reach out to the users; from announcing the update to releasing the stable version of the update to several manufacturers, it surely took quite a time. Several users of the Samsung, OnePlus, and ASUS smartphones reported the arrival of the updates by surfacing them online. Users are in joy because these alerts give less seasoned users the chance to become acquainted with the most recent advancements Google has made in terms of security, user experience, and other areas.

Experts and aficionados have been closely monitoring this gradual development, resulting in minimal discoveries when the finished product is published. Google’s “Android Upgrade Party” initiative, which was launched in 2022 and is not to be confused with the Android Upgrade Invite, which encourages users to install new OS versions, was created primarily with this user base in mind. Through this initiative, manufacturers can showcase the innovations brought to users with subsequent updates.

Dedicated notifications appear to have begun to gain traction with the introduction of Android 14, even if OEMs had not utilized this option much in previous years. However, UGH producers can alter them to emphasize some new features over others. Google curates the basic form of these concise descriptions. While Google prioritizes improvements linked to accessibility and security, Samsung, on the other hand, chooses to focus on new features connected to Google apps, such as maps, photos, and messages. Not all models are created equal, but the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra, OnePlus 8 Pro, and ASUS ZenFone 10 are just a few instances of the numerous and varied devices on which the presence of this kind of alert has been seen.

Mishaal Rahman shared a tour of the new Android 14 and ASUS ZenFone 10 that includes a black and white theme, settings for synchronizing health and fitness apps, permission management, notification flashing, accessibility features for hearing aids, and the ability to adjust the screen’s magnification. The shared screenshots demonstrate and assist users in getting the most out of the gadgets they use on a daily basis. This means that both more seasoned and less seasoned users may take advantage of these messages shown inside the framework of the Android Upgrade party.

Android 15 will disable its home screen widgets while killing an app

Google is close to releasing Android 15 with many new notable twerks, upgrades, and changes. This latest update will disable its home screen widgets while killing an app.

Android 15 is bringing a new twerk, which will turn off widgets when you force-stop an app. In the past, force-stopping an app would not affect its widget, which could be an inconvenience in the scenario where the issue was with the widget itself. However, the home screen widget of the force-stopped app will remain unaffected and still work as usual.

Google updated the Android 15 behavior changes section of its developer website to note that when an app is force-stopped, all its widgets are instantly temporarily disabled and grayed out as the OS terminates or forces to cancel the app’s pending intents. After this, you cannot interact with the widgets until you relaunch the app.

For convenience, you can open the app directly by clicking its icon or indirectly through the share menu from another app. Google is also adding more changes for force-stopping apps; for instance, when you force-stop an app, its home screen widget becomes disabled for a while. Due to this, the widget will not work, and you can not interact with it until you relaunch the app, even directly or indirectly.

Noticeably, apps targeting Android 15 can only run foreground services for data synchronization for up to 6 hours within a 24-hour. The giant could also limit the types of foreground services, which launch immediately after a device boots up.

The Secret Behind Android 15 Easter Egg Explained

Google is busy working on its next iteration, Android 15. On the other hand, Samsung also started its Android 15-based One UI 7 internal beta testing.

Android enthusiasts are eagerly awaiting the release of Android 15, which is expected to bring dozens of new features and upgrades to enhance smartphones’ overall software system. Leaks suggest several new features that Android 15 could bring. Reportedly, Google is planning to upgrade resource management and autonomy. How could Android 15 permit you to choose the device playback by turning off Bluetooth, and how will it automatically turn off the screen?

Android 15 Easter Egg

Android 15 is expected to display brightness and notification management improvements, Auracast and Bluetooth audio sharing enhancements, refine “Back” gesture prediction, and prevent accidental Bluetooth turn-off.

Undoubtedly, Android is known for its hidden easter eggs in each OS version. However, bundles of Android 15 features have already been rumoured; this time, there’s no new update on the easter egg. Pixel smartphones equipped with Android 14, Pixel users can reach the easter egg of their version by just following the steps mentioned here –

  • Settings >> About smartphone >> Android version and then repeatedly clicking on the Android version item.

Then, the version logo will appear. Hold it down for a while, and the smartphone will start vibrating, offering you the game that we now know. The Easter egg in Android 15 appears to be a little letdown. It’s quite the same as the previous version, but with one small twerk: it will let you plant flags on the planets you visit.

A tipster suggested that the easter egg resides precisely in the flag; specifically, if you had a device with a Beta version of Android 15, you would not be able to view this feature; if you are interested, you must activate a special flag. Google has, therefore, created a flag to be able to display the flags. The ability to plant the flag itself is the actual easter egg, and it is a pun on the word “flag”, referring to two things: the first is the in-game flag you plant on planets, and the second is a unique code flag that is required to activate the ability to see the in-game flags.

Google Integrates Samsung’s Note-Taking Functionality in Android 15

Google is on the way to providing a plethora of new features for Android devices with its upcoming Android 15 software update. Currently, the company is developing the software, and to test it, there are already two major beta updates, including Android 15 beta 1 and beta 2. Based on these beta updates, we have already gotten information about several new features, one of which is the Samsung-origin note-taking feature.

Android users will be able to take notes from the lock screen on tablets

The lock screen not taking feature is already available on the Samsung flagship smartphones, which come with S PEN functionality, allowing users to take notes directly from the lock screen. This facility will soon be available for all Android tablets with the upcoming Android 15.

As tablets are not as frequently used as smartphones, they still get some significant features from time to time. The note-taking functionality is also the one major useful feature that allows users to take advantage of the large size of the screen to easily write notes.

According to earlier reports, Android 15 users will get the ability with the help of Google Keep or another application. Google has already announced that this availability is not limited to its default application, but another application developer can also develop their app to use this functionality. So developers of other applications should start to make their applications compatible with the features of Android 15.
