Galaxy S24 also brings Apple’s True Tone display feature as Adaptive Color Tone
Samsung is lighting up the tech industry with its upgraded display of the latest generation Galaxy S24 series.
This time, the brand has attached a brighter display as compared to its predecessors. The Galaxy S24 lineup’s display is faster and significantly brighter than the previous models. Apart from this, they also take advantage of one new software feature that leads to improving the user’s experience as per convenience.
The Galaxy S24 series runs Android 14-powered One UI 6.1 out of the box, which is the latest UI launched on this series. Since it is the latest software update, it’s pretty obvious it brings new editions for enhancing the user experience.
OneUI 6.1 update has brought an extra display feature, unfortunately, that is not available on old Galaxy devices, named ‘Adaptive Color Tone’. In a way, this feature is a kind of enhanced Eye Comfort Shield feature.
Noticeably, this adaptive color tone also appears as Samsung’s alternative to Apple’s true tone, which is housed on iPhones and MacBooks.
Samsung Adaptive Color Tone Display Feature for Galaxy Devices
Adaptive Color Tone uses the front and rear-facing cameras on the Galaxy S24 series, which includes the Galaxy S24, Galaxy S24+, and Galaxy S24 Ultra, for adjusting colors and white balance based on ambient lighting conditions. However, the familiar Eye Comfort Shield used to offer one warm filter that activated depending on the scenarios.
Basically, with this new feature, the brand is improving the quality of images, which makes the image on the dynamic AMOLED 2X display look pretty natural in different scenes. Also, in dark or at-night conditions, the display may adjust to have a satisfying tone.
Although the brand has already allotted upgraded display specifications to the Galaxy S24 series, which include remarkable brightness up to 2,600 nits, Plus, an improved Vision Booster technology helps in adjusting the display even better as compared to the previous time.
Meanwhile, it is not exactly clear whether the Korean Giants will add this new adaptive color tone feature to previous generation Galaxy devices through the One UI 6.1 update. So at the end of the discussion, this ‘Adaptive Color Tone’ feature is Galaxy S24 lineup exclusive.
