Galaxy M55 5G Packs a 45W Charger, Certified by FCC

Samsung recently debuted its latest awaited flagship series’ smartphone, and now the brand is gearing up for its forthcoming mid-range smartphone, the Galaxy M55.
It seems that the brand is setting up to expand the M series’ area by introducing the brand new addition. And this is being speculated by an FCC application. The Galaxy M55 has popped up online again, this time through an FCC application.
This forthcoming Galaxy M55 smartphone has been spotted with the model number SM-M556B, as confirmed by FCC documents. Apart from the model number, the application also mentioned a battery manufactured by Ningde Amperex Technology, identified by model number HQ-6887NAS.
For more details, the FCC tested the Galaxy M55 and its battery using a Samsung 45W wall charger, known as EP-TA845. Unfortunately, at the moment, the exact capacity and charging speed are not known, so the upcoming Galaxy M55 smartphone will support a 45W charger. The higher expectations are that it supports 25W, but the FCC used a beefier charger during testing.
Apart from the battery capabilities, the FCC also confirms that the Galaxy M55 is eligible for 5G. Plus, it also has the support of expandable storage, NFC connectivity, Bluetooth 5 (EDR), and Wi-Fi 802.11ax.
Moving back to previous leaks, it has already been revealed that the Galaxy M55 will probably be the first mid-range smartphone in the Galaxy series to be powered by Qualcomm’s chipset. Previously, the Galaxy M55 was spotted in an online benchmark spotting the SM-M556B model number, which indicated that it might get Android 14, 8GB of RAM, and the Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 chipset. The latter has eight CPU cores clocked at up to 2.4GHz and an Adreno 644 graphics chip; it’s also possible that it might run OneUI 6.0 out of the box.
However, for now, the specification of the Galaxy M55 has not been confirmed yet, so waiting is the only option until the brand is officially announced.
