Samsung Expands SmartThings’ Ways For Its Commercial Displays At ISE 2024
Samsung, at an Integrated System Europe (ISE) 2024 event in Barcelona for better business connectivity, demonstrated how its SmartThings platform will expand the way its B2B displays.
In the exhibition, the new enhancements in the IoT platform were unveiled, whereas the Korean giants were focusing on delivering extra connected and controllable digital signage solutions to the other side of multiple industries.
At the event it was stated that; “In a commercial display sector where operational efficiency is key, Samsung digital signage is leveraging SmartThings to deliver next-gen connectivity and features to organizations of all sizes.”
Basically, the brand introduced “SmartThings” functionality for their trading displays, for instance, Smart Signage and Hotel TVs. This will permit the business to control smart devices from anywhere directly with the help of these displays, creating a hyper-connected business space. SmartThings will have the power to support Samsung smart devices and other gadgets supporting IoT standards, Matter and Ho, and Connectivity Alliance (HCA).
By using this SmartThings application, the brand is just aiming for the more efficient management of space and energy by transforming places of business into interconnected smart spaces. Noticeably, these connectivity improvements have been designed for the welfare of all kinds of business customers, whether they are small or mid-sized business owners or enterprises.
Now, along with Routine’s feature, the users will be able to easily create required scenarios by setting the optimal lighting, temperature, humidity, and air quality in advance and easily maintain them over time with automated space management.
SmartThings AI Energy Mode will help business owners to stay eco-conscious by decreasing the usage of energy through efficient asset management and advanced monitoring; for instance, turning off connected devices or dimming the lights during the day just depends on the usage of power, occupancy, and time as well. Apart from all this, the device owner also has the ability to generate a web URL to share SmartThings features alongside the end users.
At the ISE event, Samsung also introduced the existence of the very first Google Enterprise Devices Licensing Agreement (EDLA) certified interactive display with the model name – WAD, which is expected to debut by the second quarter of 2024.
The WAD series will be powered by Android 13 and available in 65-, 75-, and 86-inch variants, delivering a seamless and intuitive learning experience for teachers and students alike.
The upcoming WAD series of Samsung is the latest addition of collaborative displays designed for the classroom. They offer an Android-powered experience along with the support of the Google Play application as well as services such as Google Classroom and Drive. The Displays are built to be tough and genuine, with features such as surge protection, a glass-type fuse, and anti-humidity glue.
Samsung is also partnering with Cisco to improve the hybrid work experience by introducing a new 105-inch, 5K smart signage display (QPD-5K) with a 21:9 aspect ratio. This will enhance the video conferencing experience in the hybrid workspace. This QPD-5K display will run with Cisco Room Kit EQ and the rest of the Cisco tools, resulting in an intuitive and efficient meeting environment.
In the end, Samsung also announced its Transparent MICRO LED technology in Europe, showing its unexpected transparency and ability to be customized to any size or ratio. This will deliver high-quality visuals virtually without seams or light distortion, promising a new standard in commercial displays.
