Samsung & Marimekko Gearing Up To Announce Limited Edition Artwork For The Frame

Samsung Electronics and Marimekko are getting together to debut the limited-edition artwork for The Frame, Samsung’s lifestyle TV

According to the reports from 1st February, Marimekko is going to introduce 40 designs to the Samsung Art Store as artwork for the Frame. The Chief Marketing Officer at Marimekko has also stated that; “Marimekko has always appreciated the beauty and joy of everyday life.” 

The brand is excited to announce the bold patterns as everyday art to new audiences. In this collaboration with the Korean tech giants, Marimekko is especially happy to celebrate Unikko’s 60th anniversary. Samsung has stated that innovation takes a stylish turn along this limited edition collaboration, which delivers a carefully curated library of 30 timeless Marimekko prints to The Frame

To bounce back the changing seasons, users will get the ability to transform their TVs with three rotating collections of 12 prints. This partnership will result in a generous portfolio of art created by the following artists, which are mentioned below; 

  • Maija Isola – The designer who renowned Unikko flower pattern and over 500 others for Marimekko 
  • Fujiwo Ishimoto – He is an award-winning Japanese designer who has worked with the brand for decades since the 1970s. 
  • Katsuji Wakisaka – He is a Japanese textile designer famous for his organic shapes and bold colours 
  • Vuokko Eskolin – She is a Finnish textile designer celebrated for her functional and timeless designs. 
  • Maija Louekari– It is a designer who combines narrative line drawings with striking, coloured surfaces. 

The Korean giants are proud to introduce the first addition of a Finnish design house to the Samsung Art Store. It is reported that the Marimekko designs will be available on the Samsung Art Store – an exclusive subscription service for the Frame, where users have the ability to browse and choose from more than 2,500 pieces from notable artists, museums, galleries and design brands as well.
