Samsung Replaces Super Slow-mo with Instant Slow-mo: A Game Changer or Just a Gimmick?

Samsung has rolled out the One UI 6.1 update for the Galaxy S24 devices. It has introduced new AI features that enhance the user experience across various communication functions and other AI-based features. Along with this, the update also brings a new instant slow-mo feature for the devices.

Users expect the instant slow-mo feature to be included in the One UI 6.1 update for Galaxy S24 devices. In case you don’t know about the feature, then here is a quick introduction: the instant slow motion feature helps us convert a regular video into a slow motion video. In simple words, the user can easily give the slow motion effect in the recorded video.

As you know, Samsung has already said that it will provide several AI features to older Galaxy devices, at least for the Galaxy S23 series, Galaxy Tab S9 series, Galaxy Z Fold 5, and Galaxy Z Flip 5. The company is expected to expand the update to more Galaxy devices.

Is the super slow-mo still accessible after One UI 6.1?

In the Galaxy S24, Samsung has removed the super slow motion feature from the device, so it is expected that the company may introduce it to the same thing. It is worth noticing that, with the introduction of instant video, the company has removed the super slow motion feature from the devices. For your information, the super slow motion feature allows users to record 960 fps at 1080p quality.

If you are using the Galaxy S24 series device, you can now use the instant slow-motion feature. To do that, you just need to go to the gallery on your phone and choose any video you want to add a slow motion effect to. Here you will get an edit option; just tap on it, and then tap on the trim icon. Here, you will get two levels of slow motion. Along with this, two more levels allow users to increase the speed of videos. It is worth noticing that the instant slow-mo feature is currently applied to the 8-bit videos shot between 720p and 8k in MP4 file format.
