At MWC 2024: Galaxy S24 Has Taken Over Barcelona

Published

on

In the mobile tech industry, the Mobile World Congress (MWC) serves as an annual gathering for tech professionals and provides a stage for networking, collaboration, and technological showcases. And in a way, a few years ago, MWC was also the home of the latest Galaxy S flagship smartphone. It is speculated that MWC 2024 will take the floor in Barcelona, Spain, commencing with a keynote on February 26 and concluding on February 29.

The Korean giants would reveal the forthcoming Galaxy S models while simultaneously mounting a massive marketing campaign. Now at MWC 2024, the giants have once again taken over Barcelona as if it’s going to reveal the Galaxy S24 series. The Galaxy S24 sold literally better, even more than expected, which includes regions like Europe. And it appears that Samsung doesn’t want the smartphones coming out of MWC 2024 to outclass the Galaxy S24 and its brand new Galaxy AI.

The huge poster image just above the facade of a 7-star building in the center of Barcelona advertises the Galaxy S24 Ultra, and it is a powerful model.

In Europe, people who are thinking about buying a new phone, the Ultra, is also the only model that features the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor. Whereas the Galaxy S24 and Galaxy S24+ are powered by the Exynos 2400. The fact is that the Korean giants are doing it more than a month after unveiling the Galaxy S24 series. Also, the brand did not even have a major event set for MWC this year.

If the reports are to be believed, the placement of that huge Galaxy S24 poster is not accidental. Across the street from the Apple store, people will find a random Samsung booth, where the brand is presently demoing the Galaxy AI, which runs on the Galaxy S24 smartphones. The Korean brand is gearing up to sell out a vast range of Galaxy S24 units as quickly as possible. However, it appears that it is running a live experience for the Galaxy S24 by inviting people to try the Galaxy S24 in Barcelona in the middle of February 15th and February 29th.

Apart from the Galaxy S24 series, it is also expected that the Xiaomi 14 Ultra and Honor Magic 6 Pro will be unveiled at MWC 2024. While Honor has been teasing the next-generation Magic Pro model online for weeks now,.

Samsung Galaxy S25’s advanced AI novelties could boost its price

Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra Brightness & Adaptive Color Tone

Samsung started working on the Galaxy S25 series, which is supposed to be launched early next year. This forthcoming device is expected to be priced higher as compared to its predecessor.

Samsung will expand its high-end S series by introducing a next-gen smartphone series named the Galaxy S25. It’s too early to discuss the Galaxy S25, but leaks and rumors are doing their jobs by offering more details about the upcoming Galaxy S25. This upcoming device is expected to cost more than the current S-series devices.

The reason behind this report appears to be that a Galaxy S25 will be more expensive than a Galaxy S24 due to its higher manufacturing costs. The US chip designer Qualcomm could push the upcoming Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 into production in the second half of the year. This latest chipset is expected to boost AI processing.

Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 will be a truly advanced chip, but its high-end tech advancements might lead to higher costs, which could translate into a price hike for the upcoming Galaxy S25. The report suggested that, according to a recent prediction from industry watcher Ming-Chi Kuo, Qualcomm might increase the cost of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 by 25–30% compared to the Gen 3 solution.

The Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 will be manufactured on the 3nm N3E process by TSMC; it’s the same technique used to build Apple’s A18 Pro chip. This shift will supposedly cause the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 to be 25–30% more expensive than its predecessor. Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 costs around $190–$200; by this metric, the upcoming Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 might cost $260.

However, Samsung could deal with the higher expenses of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 for the Galaxy S25 by absorbing the cost or reducing the quality in other areas, such as the battery or display, but this could be risky, such as switching to its in-house Exynos 2500 chip. The upcoming chipset will be fabricated from TSMC’s most advanced process and should bring performance gains to the CPU, GPU, and NPU (AI processing).
