Google Wallet Now Automatically Adds Boarding Passes & Movie Tickets from Gmail
Google Wallet is one of the top applications from Google that has been getting new improvements and updates in the last couple of months, which has brought some new utility options for the users, such as direct access to different cards or passes on smartwatches and also the ability to pay offline. Now with the fresh update, it is bringing support for automatically showing the tickets and travel boarding passes from your Gmail account.
In simple words, earlier, when you got any confirmation passes or movie tickets via Gmail, you needed to manually add them to the Google Wallet for use, but now it will be done automatically.
However, this ability will only work on emails that include the full QR code or boarding pass. The feature is very fresh, so to make it compatible with more airlines, Google is working to make it more usable for users.
In the latest release, Google has also brought some new additions, like making the wallet app support boarding passes with some more details, including date and time, as well as “moving AppLinkData definitions to a more prominent location on the front of the pass.”
Along with this, the update also addresses an issue where it prevented the title label from appearing on the back of the pass, which means the card view is now visible on the back of the pass.
With the arrival of all the above-mentioned features and improvements, Google has also announced that it is testing a new feature that will highlight membership benefits while users browse the products on Google search and shopping. Currently, it is in testing, so it will be available in the next update only to users who are in the US.
