Samsung’s Next Chromebook Will Feature A Dedicated Assistant Key
Samsung is appearing to introduce its new Chromebook along with support for Assistant Key.
Google has already introduced AI features to its ChromeOS via Chromebook Plus. The recent reports indicate that a new Chromebook has surfaced in development along with the codename “XoI,” referencing a major boss from Destiny 2. However, uncountable Chromebooks are under construction, but the fact that makes XoI stand out from the rest is its dedicated “Assistant Key.”.
However, this is not the latest twerk, but still exciting, since out of dozens of ChromeOS devices, only some of them feature a dedicated Assistant Key, and they are made by Google products; for instance, the Pixelbook, PixelbookGo, and Pixel Slate. It’s been too long since the last Pixelbook debuted five years ago, and the instant appearance of a new Chromebook with an Assistant key could seem like a sign of Google expanding its hardware mission in 2024.
Although various of the code changes regarding XoI (1.2.3) have been contributed by Samsung developers, It is expected that XoI will simply be the next Chromebook from Samsung, marking the first since the Galaxy Chromebook Go of 2021. It is now known that it will be powered by one of Intel’s Raptor Lake processors, which should mean either a 13th or 14th generation Intel Core processor. Apart from this, it is also appearing that the Korean giant is building a traditional clamshell, not a convertible, as “tablet mode” is explicitly disabled.
Surpassing this, the finer information regarding this Chromebook has yet to surface, leaving the Assistant key as the main differentiator. Also, the brand recently dropped a few abilities from the assistant, while Gemini has shown itself to not be quite ready to be obedient to your full-time phone helper.
