Google Wallet Gets New Update; Increases Security
Google Wallet refers to a digital wallet app that lets you store payment cards, loyalty cards, and more. It lets you make payments through NFC using your smartphone. To still be able to make payments, we need to use a phone or smartwatch.
Now, to add an extra layer of security, Google is rolling out the latest update, which will improve security and surely enhance the user’s secure experience.
It offers tons of facilities and advantages over competing services. It even works offline seamlessly, has the power to store movie tickets and boarding passes automatically soon, and can also permit manual storage of tickets and loyalty cards.
Google Wallet is the power package of multiple facilities, about which some of the users don’t even know, such as making a payment without even unlocking their phone. Some Google Wallet users might not realize yet that to make small payments, they don’t have to unlock their phone.
Here’s the question: Is there any limitation to making payments through Google Wallet without unlocking the phone?
The simple answer is ‘Yes’! Google Wallet permits users to make small payments without unlocking the phone, but there is a different limit in each state. Up to that limit, users are permitted to make payments by unlocking their phone. The limits for different states are as follows:
- Italy: EUR 25
- Belgium: EUR 25
- France: EUR 30
- Germany: EUR 50
But the reports are saying that recently some of the users have claimed that they need to unlock their phone for every Google Wallet payment, even within the limit, regardless of the amount. The reason behind this is a recent change. A couple of weeks ago, in February, Google updated its support page about lock screen settings for making payments.
After the recent change, users must unlock their phones for each Google Wallet payment, which is not popular. Some of the users on Reddit have reported that they are being inconvenienced by this change. However, this increases security.
