Samsung Announces 3D Map View Feature Centered On SmartThings & AI

At CES 2024, Samsung Electronics already introduced its 3D Map View feature, and now make is available widely with SmartThings access. 

The Korean Electronics firm finally announced that it has debuted its 3D Map View feature. Map view streamlines home management by turning real floor plans into virtual images in the SamrtThings applications. This will let you adjust lighting, temperature, air quality, and even energy consumption at any time anywhere at your convenience. 

Initially, this Map View feature was rolled out in Korea and the US in 2023, but now finally it make its reached all regions widely with access to the SmartThings application. 

Map view addresses the challenge of managing the growing number of connected devices in every home worldwide. The Korean giants enhanced their SmartThings application with a new 3D Map View. The brand has built this in a way that it can tackle the difficulty of managing multiple smart home devices. The 3D view displays the entire home layout and updates on adding devices. 

Before, it was just a 2D map requiring a floor plan. Now, the brand has attached LiDAR sensors in devices such as the Bespoke Jet Bot Vaccum, which is capable of creating a 3D map automatically by using spatial AI.

 This will provide a clearer understanding of space and device locations within the home. This feature also offers an enhanced filter function which permits for more efficient monitoring as well as control of required devices. This Map View is available through the SmartThings app on Android, TVs, as well as iOS devices.
