April 2024 Security Update Arrives for Galaxy Z Fold 5 & Flip 5 in the US
Samsung is constantly rolling out April 2024 security patch updates for several high-end to mid-range Galaxy devices. It is a standard security patch update, and the company is randomly distributing it to eligible devices. With the latest development, it started distributing the April 2024 security patch update in the US for its latest foldable Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Galaxy Z Flip 5.
Notably, the April 2024 security patch update is now available for the locked and unlocked units of the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Z Flip 5 devices. More specifically, the unlocked variants of the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Galaxy Z Flip 5 are getting new updates with the firmware version numbers F946U1UES2CXCI and F731U1UES2CXC, respectively.
Meanwhile, the locked versions of the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Galaxy Z Flip 5 are getting a new update with the firmware version numbers F946USQS2CXCI and F731USQS2CXCI, respectively. Several carriers, including Verizon, Comcast, Spectrum Mobile, and Verizon, have already received the update as of this writing.
With the April 2024 security patch, users will not get any new features or other improvements that can be visible to them, but it will surely enhance the overall security of the devices. Going into details, it will provide more than 40 fixes, where Google has included 27 security vulnerabilities and Samsung has included 17 fixes that will improve the internal functioning of the devices exclusively.
