Truecaller’s AI Assistant Can Now Answer Calls in Your Voice
Truecaller is partnering with Microsoft to offer a major upgrade to its AI Assistant feature. Both firms are working on the same table to introduce a feature that permits you to create a digital replica of your voice to answer incoming calls.
This innovative development utilizes the Azure AI speech technology of Microsoft; however, it will probably also be a bit unsettling for some users. Truecaller launched its AI Assistant back in 2022 and has been upgraded efficiently with advanced capabilities, for instance, automatic call answering and screening, taking messages, call recording, identifying call purpose, and more.
It also offers a convenient voice option that lets you choose from seven pre-recorded digital voices for your assistant. The forthcoming upgrade will bring the ability for premium users to create a personalized digital clone of their voice for the assistant. You can now generate a personalized digital voice clone for the same purpose.
After offering consent, you need to record a few seconds of the script in your voice to create the digital copy. To maintain transparency, Truecaller has restricted the ability to customize the initial greeting while using the personal voice option, ensuring callers are aware they are interacting with a ‘digital’ version of the user.
The latest Personal Voice feature is rolling out first in the USA, Canada, Australia, South Africa, India, Sweden, and Chile. More regions are expected to get it soon. Noticeably, for now, the feature is only available to paid users.
