US Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Z Flip 4 Users Get May 2024 Security Update

In the last couple of months, Samsung has been busy delivering the One UI 6.1 update for eligible devices; however, this time the company has taken a longer time to expand the update than the previous iteration. Due to the One UI update distribution of the latest security patch in May 2024 for the devices, but with its rapid expansion, the company brought the update to the ideal track for the Galaxy devices. Now,  with the latest update, the company has started rolling out the update for the fourth generation of foldable devices.

The Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Galaxy Z Flip 4 are getting the May 2024 security patch in the US

The Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Galaxy Z Flip 4 are getting a new update in the US. More specifically, the unlocked units of the devices are getting a new update with the firmware version numbers F936U1UES5FXE5 and F721U1UES5FXE5, respectively. Meanwhile, locked units of the Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Galaxy Z Flip 4 have the firmware version numbers F936USQS5FXE5 and F721USQS5FXE5, respectively.

As of writing, the May update for the Galaxy Z Fold 4 was spotted on Comcast, while the Galaxy Z Flip 4 is getting the update on the US Cellular network, expected to be available to more carriers in the next few days.

The May 2024 security patch update is a standard security patch update that will not bring a single change to the device, but it will surely improve the internal issues and eradicate the security vulnerabilities.

If you are using the Galaxy Z Fold 4 or Galaxy Z Flip 4 device in the US, then you can now update the latest version by simply going to the system software update from the main settings. If you don’t receive the update yet, then you have to wait some time until it expands to all the units.
