One UI 7 Update on Android 15 Making Good Strides

Published

on

Samsung is taking steps forward to its next One UI version, Android 15-based One UI 7.0, as the new build for the Galaxy S24 series gets spotted.

Under the hood, Samsung is actively gearing up for the One UI 7.0 beta update for the most high-end device in the Galaxy family, the Galaxy S24 series. A new build number, S92*BXXU2BXE8, has been spotted that hints at noteworthy progress from the earlier version, BXE2

This build number suggests that the One UI 7 beta is well on its way to being ready for users to try out. Testing is underway for the Galaxy S24 Ultra in Europe. This build number is reported by a well-reliable tipster, on X. Android 15 Beta versions are currently available for Pixel and a few other Android-based devices.

Meanwhile, the Korean giant is also close to integrating the latest OS iteration, Android 15, into its Galaxy lineup with the introduction of One UI 7.0, potentially in October. A couple of days ago, the community moderators notified us that the One UI 6 beta program was successfully completed, and now the brand will encourage its users to stay ready for the One UI 7.0 beta program.

However, Samsung has not revealed the exact date for the One UI 7.0 beta release yet, but the regular spotting for the firmware testing for the Galaxy S24 series hints that the brand is actively working on releasing the first beta soon. Undoubtedly, the One UI 7 beta program will initially be available for the Galaxy S24 series and is expected to be expanded to other models.

One UI 7.0 Won’t Release Early, as One UI 6.1.1 Takes Priority

Samsung users are eagerly waiting for the powerful package of innovative features, notable customization changes, and upgrades within the title One UI 7.0. But the wait is dragging on since One UI 7 will not arrive too early, as the report says.

Samsung One UI 7 to Arrive Later Than Expected Due to One UI 6.1.1

Previously, by following the last One UI update’s schedule, it was reported that One UI 7.0 beta could arrive sometime in August, but that’s not the case anymore. Samsung, apart from One UI 7, is also setting up for One UI 6.1.1 to be introduced on the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Galaxy Z Flip 6 out of the box on July 10 at the Galaxy Unpacked event. This means that One UI 6.1.1 is first in line to be scheduled.

One UI 6.1.1 update will also bring a bunch of new AI functions, which suggests that it’s not a minor upgrade. Once this update arrives on the latest Galaxy foldable, the brand will deliver it to Galaxy S24 users in August. So by this prospect, the scheduling plan for the One UI 7 could seem to be delayed.

A well-reliable tipster on X also shared a post hinting that “One UI 7 will not arrive very early, because there are special circumstances this year.”

If the reports are to be believed, then One UI 7 will arrive just after the eligible devices get One UI 6.1.1, especially theGalaxy S24 series. This is because Samsung usually releases the latest major OS updates on the latest flagship device, which is the Galaxy S24 for now. Instead of clashing two major updates, it’s better for Samsung to release One UI 7 later. However, Samsung has yet to announce the official release date of One UI 7.

Samsung is known for its innovation, which it regularly tries with its software or hardware upgrades. Therefore,  its users always get excited to get new changes to the software or hardware to unlock the device’s full potential. It is worth noting that the company always focuses on small details where the improvement is needed. For example, with One UI 6.0, the company has introduced the option to open a full quick-setting panel by swiping down from the right side. But still, there is improvement that is needed to open the Quick Star menu easily.

Samsung Integrates iOS-Style Swipe Down Menu in One UI 7.0

In the latest response from the moderator, it is considered a new upgrade for the Quick setting, where the user will be able to open the Quick settings separately. In simple words, if you want to swipe down on the home screen to open either notifications or quick settings, it will be available in the next update.

We will review whether the integration of the Home screen to open the notification window function and QuickStar Quick Settings window can be supported by One UI 7.0.

However, the moderator hasn’t fully confirmed the availability of this change, but it is expected that the new functionality will be available with the One UI 7.0 update.

As far as the availability of the One UI 7.0 update is concerned, it is expected that the company will provide the update, which will be available in the upcoming months. If you are using an eligible device, then you have to wait at least for the official release of Android 15. Then you can expect the availability of the update for your device. However, before the official update, the company will start the beta rollout, which will be available for select devices.

One UI 7 Android 15

The Android 15 work is on full roll, as Google has released several beta channels for its next Android operating system, with plenty of features and upgrades. The Android 15 will enter into its stable version until later this year. Several predictions have already started fleshing out regarding Samsung’s next One UI iteration, the One UI 7.0, which could arrive with a more improved user interface and experience.

As Android 15 is gradually moving closer to its stable channel, several Android partners have started working on infusing some of the of the best possible functionalities within their custom UI, and Samsung is no exception. Samsung’s next One UI 7.0 will be based on Android 15. Meanwhile, it appears like Samsung could offer a more enhanced experience to its entire Galaxy ecosystem.

Samsung’s One UI is highly customizable but lacks some improvements in the UI and UX.

Samsung has indeed offered several advanced capabilities to its Galaxy devices, and the inclusion of the Galaxy AI within its supported phones helped Samsung push the boundaries of some uncertainty and be the best of all. Meanwhile, the brand has always shown consistency towards making its One UI the best Android custom UI, from pushing gradual improvements to some significant features. However, Samsung needs to address the fact the fact that its UI and UX still require certain improvements.

Although Samsung has always focused on bringing the best from its Galaxy smartphones, while there are most of the features and functionalities that other smartphone brands do not, it still lacks in some aspects, including software stability, system animations, and user interface components. Thus, this huge gap of uncertainty in its UI and UX could hopefully be resolved with the arrival of the One UI 7.0 version.

Moreover, Samsung does offer some noticeable features and enhancements with the One UI 6.0 version; it’s expected that the brand could address the UX refinements with its next UI iteration, One UI 7, and might offer a better, enhanced, and improved software experience within its entire Galaxy ecosystem.
