Samsung to Reduce Display Repair Costs for Foldable Phone Users
Samsung offers some relief to its foldable users, as it makes display repairs cheaper for foldable phones.
Galaxy foldable owners now don’t have to pay a lot for accidental damage to their display since Samsung has decided to make display repairs cheaper for foldable phone users. However, at the moment, it seems that this is only being offered toGalaxy Z Fold 5 and Galaxy Z Flip 5 customers in its home country of South Korea.
Samsung has announced that it is looking forward to expanding its repair service for foldable phone displays, starting with the Galaxy Z Flip 5 and Galaxy Z Fold 5 models. The reason behind this move is just to minimize repair costs for customers and also to reduce electronic waste.
To replace the complete display unit, foldable phone owners will only be able to replace the necessary components that need to be swapped out. The brand is also looking forward to expanding the number of service centers in the South Korean market that provide display-only repairs for these devices. The count is being increased from 13 centers to 32 across the country.
Noticeably, these display-only repairs potentially take a little more time, usually up to an hour, compared to repairs where the entire unit is replaced. Regarding this, the giant said that through this new display-only repair, customers will save at least up to 36% on repair costs. To put that in perspective, Galaxy Z Fold 5 owners would be able to save up to $150 on display repairs. That’s certainly not an insignificant amount.
