Google Gemini App Now Available in the UK and EU

Spread the love

In the end, Gemini finally arrived in the UK and the EU. Google has officially made the Gemini available in two more markets: the UK and the EU.

Now, Google Gemini is available in over 170 countries and territories. The Gemini app has been slow to reach a few regions, even including larger markets. But now, finally, Google is plugging those gaps as it rolls out access to its new assistant to the UK and EU member states.

However, in a way, Gemini was already available and functional in several regions before the official announcement, but with limitations; for instance, users had to skirt around official channels to sideload the APK. Android users in these regions can now head to the Google Play Store to easily download the full and official Gemini applications.

Essentially, using the Gemini app will take over Google Assistant’s place as your device’s assistant; the two cannot function simultaneously. Gemini is a convenient tool available on smartphones that’s able to complete more provisionally sensitive tasks as compared to its older sibling. Somewhere, for smart home control, using Gemini on the web is still recommended. However, Google is adding functionality through “Gemini Extensions” for instant YouTube music. So, expect the web version of Gemini to stay ahead in capabilities, at least for a while.

Gemini is not available on iOS yet. Google hints that the assistant will roll out to iOS devices through the Google app within the “coming weeks.” After Google makes it available officially, users can activate Gemini using the dedicated button within the app.
