Samsung has started preparing the development of the One UI 7.0 update for the Galaxy devices; however, the company hasn’t revealed anything about the possible features of the update except a new RegiStar feature that allows users to check the time with a back tap.
Samsung’s One UI 7.0 to Feature New Back Tap Controls with RegiStar
RegiStar Team has officially confirmed via Good Lock Terrace that it will provide a new back-tap to check time feature for the upcoming foldables, including the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Galaxy Z Flip 6, with One UI 7.0. As the name suggests, the feature will provide the ability to check the time when tapping the smartphone from the back side.
The advantage of this feature is that you will not need to wake up the device’s screen; this will adapt to the environment’s lighting conditions and allow you to see the time property even if you have set the brightness to a low level.
According to the official report, the RegiStar team has confirmed that it will introduce the back tap to check time feature to all the supported smartphones in the future with One UI 7.0, but this time it hasn’t made it compatible with tablets.
Regarding the availability of One UI 7.0, the update is expected to be available in a stable channel for Galaxy devices in the next couple of months after the release of Android 15. Initially, it will be available on the latest flagship device and gradually expand to more eligible devices.
