Verizon Galaxy S24 units receiving June 2024 Security update in the USA
Earlier today, a Samsung Galaxy S24 series device was spotted receiving the June 2024 security patch update for the locked variant on the US Cellular network. Now it is expanding to more units via Verizon networks.
Users who own carrier-locked units of the Galaxy S24 series bound to the Verizon network can identify the latest update by the firmware version number S92*USQS2AXE4. According to the official page of the changelog, it only says that “the current software update provides the most up-to-date Android patches on your device,” which indicates that you will not get any significant changes for the devices.
June 2024 update will provide you with several new patches that will improve the overall security of the devices by eradicating the vulnerabilities found in their software. Going into the details, there are nearly 60 new fixes introduced. Here, Google has introduced 37 patches that will improve the function of the Android OS. Meanwhile, Samsung has introduced 22 patches that will improve the security of the Galaxy device exclusively.
If you are also using the locked units of the Galaxy S24 series bound to the Verizon network, then now you can update the device to the latest version by going to the system software update via system settings. Usually, it takes time to reach every unit of the device, so keep patience if you don’t receive the update yet.
The Galaxy S24 is the latest Galaxy S series device, which arrived with One UI 6.1 and Android 14 pre-installed. For long-lasting update availability, Samsung has announced that these devices will be eligible to get software update support for up to 7 years, where they will get all major OS and security patch updates every year.
