Samsung rolls out One UI 6.1 update for more Galaxy A14 5G units in the US

The Samsung Galaxy A14 5G is one of the most popular devices in its segment. The device is equipped with all the desired specifications that provide value for money. The device is now getting a new update with the significant One UI 6.1 upgrade. A couple of weeks ago, the device was spotted getting an update on the Verizon network, and now it is gradually expanding to more units.

Samsung has rolled out the new update for the locked variants with the firmware version number A146USQU7DXE1. The update has now reached almost all the locked units of the device. Along with this, the unlocked variant also started getting the One UI 6.1 update with the firmware version number A146U1UEU7DXE1. It is worth noticing that the latest update for the device is still using the older security patch level in the form of April 2024.

One UI 6.1 update: What’s new 

One UI 6.1 update in the US will provide some new features and bring some new improvements to the existing applications, which will surely elevate the overall performance of the devices. For your information, there are several new options introduced under many applications, including wallpaper, alarm, calendar, reminder, and home screen. For safety enhancement, the company has brought some new changes to connect and share, such as QuickShare, which is now integrated into the nearby share, locating your device location with others, Similarly, users will see many more improvements to the overall performance and elevation of the devices. Galaxy A53 gets June 2024 security update in Europe

Samsung has introduced the June 2024 security update to many Galaxy devices belonging to different series, including the Galaxy Z and Galaxy S series. Now that it has started rolling out the update for the Galaxy A series devices, the company has initiated the distribution of the Galaxy A53 devices.

The Galaxy A53 gets a June 2024 update in Europe

The Galaxy A53 has started getting a new update in Europe with the firmware version number A536BXXSAEXF1. According to the changelog, the latest update for the device will improve security. It means you will not get any significant changes for the device; it will only bring some new features for the device. 

Going into details, the update brings fixes for more than 50 security vulnerabilities found in the software since the last update. Here,  Google has applied 37 patches, and to the satisfaction of customers, Samsung has also added 22 more patches that improve the overall security of the devices.

However, sometimes the security updates also bring new changes to the software, which make improvements to the function and eradicate those issues. If you are using the device in Europe, then you should start receiving new updates, but if you haven’t received the update yet, then wait for some time until the update reaches your device.

For your information, the Galaxy A53 made its debut in the market back in 2022, and it came with Android 12 pre-installed. Later, it received two more major updates in the form of Android 13 and Android 14. Following the software update policy, the device will get one more security patch update.

Samsung pushed June 2024 security patch to its rugged Galaxy XCover7 and Galaxy XCover6 Pro

Earlier, Samsung rolled out the June 2024 update to its popular devices; now the company is gradually expanding the update to less-known devices. Here we are talking about rugged smartphones, including the Galaxy XCover7 and Galaxy XCover6 Pro.

Notably, the XCover 7 and Galaxy XCover 6 Pro are getting new updates with the firmware version numbers G556BXXS4BXF1 and G736BXXS6EXF1, respectively.

With the latest update, the company is focused on providing security-related enhancements, so if you want to take advantage of new security, then you should update the device. The latest update of these devices is currently spotted in Europe, and it is expected that they will soon be available in more countries. 

According to the official documentation, the latest security patch update will provide nearly 60 patches. Going into the details, there are 37 patches added by Google, and along with this, Samsung adds 22 more patches to the devices.

Moreover, the update may also enhance the performance and stability of the device, so if you’re getting any issues while using any functionality on your device, then you should update your device to the latest version to get rid of those issues.

According to some reports, several users have faced problems after the OneUI 6.1 installation, so if you are also one of them, you should update your device to the latest version. 

To update your device to the latest version, you just need to go to the system settings, select the software update option, tap on the download and install button, and if a new update arrives, tap on the download button.

Samsung has started serving the June 2024 security patch update for the Galaxy S21 FE in the US. However, some locked units of these devices have already received the update, but now it’s time for unlocked variants.

Users who own the unlocked variant of the Galaxy S21 FE in the US can identify the latest update by the firmware version number G990U1UESBGXF1. Earlier, the update was live for the devices that are bound to Verizon’s locked network. Now, with the latest development, the unlocked units are getting new updates on several networks, including AT&T, Dish Wireless, Comcast, Xfinity Mobile, etc.

The June 2024 update is part of the Android security maintenance program run by Google. Under this program, Google frequently releases new security updates for the Android devices; however, the company doesn’t implement the update directly on all the devices, but it initially provides the update to the OEMs, where every manufacturer may make some changes and do some customizations, then distribute the update. Similarly,  Samsung has also made some changes to the June 2024 update and gave it to the Galaxy device to enhance its security.
