Galaxy A72 gets One UI 6.1 post update as a new security patch

A couple of weeks ago, Samsung introduced the One UI 6.1 update for the Galaxy A72 devices in several regions. With this update, the company offered several new features that will enhance the overall performance of the devices. However, some users have faced issues after installing it. Now, new firmware arrives as a new security patch, hoping it will resolve those issues.

Galaxy A72 gets May 2024 security patch 

Samsung has rolled out the May 2024 security patch update for the Galaxy A72 with firmware version number A725FXXS8FXE3. As of this writing, the update is spotted in several countries, including Russia, Ukraine, and Kazakhstan. With the May 2024 security patch update, the company has shared the standard changelog with the exact wording, saying it will improve the device’s reliability and security.

As per the official documentation, the May 2024 security patch will provide more than 50 fixes. Google has introduced 31 patches to enhance the working of the devices, and Samsung has also added 25 more patches to improve the security of the Galaxy devices.

Installation

The May 2024 security patch is now live for the Galaxy A72. If you are also using the device in the above-mentioned countries, you can check for the latest update by following the simple steps: First, go to the system settings, then tap on the software update menu. Here, touch the “download and install option” and wait until it finishes searching for the new update. Then, tap on the download button.

Samsung Security Patch Update One UI

We are at the ending side of the month, Samsung has already introduced the July 2024 update for the Galaxy devices, informing that the company has started rolling out the update with the Galaxy A55 devices and then expanded to several Galaxy devices belonging to flagship and midrange devices.

Before exploring the list, let’s explore what the new update brings, the July 2024 update is a general security patch update for the devices.

According to the official documentation, the July 2024 security patch update arrived with more than 60 patches whereas Google has included 27 patches which make sure that the device will get improved security.

Along with the Google patches, Samsung has also introduced 33 extra patches which focus exclusively on enhancing the overall functionality and security of the devices. Apart from these, two more patches are applied to the semiconductor chips to eradicate the loopholes.

Samsung is rolling out the Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Galaxy Z Flip 3 with firmware version numbers F926BXXS8HXFC and F711BXXS9HXFC, respectively. The update has been spotted in Europe and Asia.
