Finally, Samsung to bring patches to eradicate critical issues with the August 2024 patch

Samsung device security

In August 2024 patch, Samsung to fix some critical issues founded earlier, in context, last month, Google reported that a critical issue had appeared on Android smartphones and tablets. To eradicate it, the company also included new patches for its Pixel devices with the June 2024 update.

However, at that time, Samsung hadn’t included the update in its Galaxy devices, but now, with the August 2024 update, the company has decided to bring the patch.

August 2024 patch update to fix the critical issues

Samsung says that it will provide the fix for the critical issue, which is coming in patch CVE-2024-32896 in August. With this patch, the company will ensure the user’s data security. You can observe how critical this issue is by the US government officials’ directive to federal employees to update their pixel devices by July 4 or stop using them.

The patch was delayed because earlier, the issue was only expected to appear on the Pixel, but later, it started appearing on Android devices as well; as Samsung has addressed the criticality, it is actively bringing the patch with the next update.

Given the issue’s criticalness, Samsung is expected to bring the August 2024 security patch earlier this time; we hope that the company will apply the update to its devices earlier than usual.

Samsung is focusing on levelling up the user interface experience in the Galaxy device. To do that, the company reportedly welcomes several UI elements designed similarly to those of its competitors.

According to the report, One UI 7 will provide a rounded icon pack and 3D-looking icons, just like macOS or visionOS. A new Quick action on the lock screen is an iOS copycat. The Gallery app icon has a white background and rainbow-type flowers.

The notification panel has been changed to a two-page panel, with one panel on the left being a notification only and the other for a quick toggle. Xiaomi’s HyperOS inspire this design. The UI changes were also applied to the camera App. Here, all the quick camera settings options were moved to the bottom.
