June 2024 Security update reaches to unlocked Galaxy S21 FE devices in the USA
Samsung has started serving the June 2024 security patch update for the Galaxy S21 FE in the US. However, some locked units of these devices have already received the update, but now it’s time for unlocked variants.
Users who own the unlocked variant of the Galaxy S21 FE in the US can identify the latest update by the firmware version number G990U1UESBGXF1. Earlier, the update was live for the devices that are bound to Verizon’s locked network. Now, with the latest development, the unlocked units are getting new updates on several networks, including AT&T, Dish Wireless, Comcast, Xfinity Mobile, etc.
The June 2024 update is part of the Android security maintenance program run by Google. Under this program, Google frequently releases new security updates for the Android devices; however, the company doesn’t implement the update directly on all the devices, but it initially provides the update to the OEMs, where every manufacturer may make some changes and do some customizations, then distribute the update. Similarly, Samsung has also made some changes to the June 2024 update and gave it to the Galaxy device to enhance its security.
If you are using the unlocked variant of the Galaxy S21 FE device in the US, then you should now start receiving notifications about the update, but if you haven’t received the notification yet, you can also check it manually via system settings.
