Samsung is all set to debut its Galaxy Watch 7 and Galaxy Watch Ultra at the next Galaxy Unpacked event on July 10 in Paris. Now, ahead of the official launch, the spec sheets for both watches have leaked. Let’s see what new novelties the watch will bring.

Galaxy Watch 7 Specs and Price

Let’s take a look at the specs of the upcoming Galaxy Watch 7, which will be available in two variants based on size: 40mm and 44mm. The report says it has an armor aluminum case and a sapphire glass screen protector. For an extra layer of protection, it has an IP68 dust and water resistance rating. It could also have MIL-STD-810 H construction.

The next-gen Galaxy Watch 7 features a 1.3-inch (432 x 432) or 1.5-inch (480 x 480) Super AMOLED display. The battery power is 400 mAh or 425 mAh. It will be powered by an in-house Exynos W1000 3nm chip, and the memory package will include 2GB of RAM and 32GB of onboard storage.

If the report is to be believed, the Galaxy Watch 7 will have a specific price in most European countries.

  • €349—44mm Bluetooth/WWi-Fi Galaxy Watch 7
  • €399—44mm 4G Galaxy Watch
  • €319—40mm Bluetooth/WWi-Fi Galaxy Watch 7
  • €369—40mm 4G Galaxy Watch 7

Galaxy Watch Ultra Specs

The Galaxy Watch Ultra will be based on an in-house W1000 chipset, which is supposed to be more power-efficient due to its enhanced 3nm architecture. The memory package will include 2 GB of RAM and 32 GB of internal storage. It has similar connectivity features as the Galaxy Watch 7. It boasts IP68 and MIL-STD-810 H ratings for extra protection from dust and water.

The Galaxy Watch Ultra features a 1.5-inch 480 x 480 Super AMOLED display. It has a titanium case and a larger 590mAh battery.

Jumping on its price, the Galaxy Watch Ultra with 4G connectivity is expected to be priced at €699, which seems like the most costly watch ever in the Galaxy family.

The rest of the specs for both the Galaxy Watch 7 and Galaxy Watch Ultra seem similar; for instance, Bluetooth 5.3 and NFC. Both run One UI Watch 6 out of the box. Both of them will feature an accelerometer, gyroscope, barometer, a geomagnetic sensor, and a BioActive sensor to enhance the health and fitness monitoring experience. We are only eight days away from the official launch of both the next-gen Galaxy smartwatches. It will be interesting to see whether these specs come true.

Galaxy Watch ultra

Samsung has recently introduced its new flagship smartwatches, the Galaxy Watch 7 and Galaxy Watch Ultra. These watches are equipped with the latest hardware and software to offer users more capabilities.

However, many software capabilities will also be available for the older watches with the One UI 6 watch update. From those capabilities, new cool watch faces are now confirmed to be available for older watches.

According to the Samsung moderator, Samsung Galaxy Watch 7 and Ultra exclusive watch faces will be available for older Galaxy watches, including Galaxy Watch 4, Galaxy Watch 5, and Galaxy Watch 6.

However, he has not mentioned the availability of new faces for older watches. Still, according to traditions, the company may introduce them with a dedicated software update in the next few months.

It is not the first time that the latest watch faces have expanded to older watches. Earlier, the Galaxy Watch Active 2 also grabbed the One UI 5 watch faces with a dedicated software update.

Samsung Galaxy watch FE eligible to get only 3 years of OS updates: Report

Published

Last month, Samsung launched its brand-new Galaxy Watch FE, specially made to provide the flagship Galaxy watch features at an affordable price; this is the first time the Korean giant has introduced the updated fan edition Galaxy watch.

As we said, the device is made to reach users who can use flagship-level features at an affordable cost. It is obvious that the company hasn’t equipped the device with similar hardware. Now, the new report mentions that the watch also lacks OS update support.

How Many Software Update Will Galaxy Watch FE Get?

According to SamHive, the Galaxy Watch FE is only eligible for 4 year of software support, during which it will receive three major updates: Wear OS and One UI watch. The device will also receive security patches for four years.

Compared to the other standard Galaxy watches, the FE variant lacks one OS and one year of software updates. Meanwhile, Samsung has followed the same five-year software policy for the Galaxy Watch 7 series.

In general, major software updates benefit users by providing the convenience of using different functionalities. At the same time, security patch support ensures that users can stay protected from cyber threats.

More specifically, the Galaxy Watch 6 recently received the third beta update, while the Galaxy Watch 5 and Galaxy Watch 4 are receiving the second beta update.

One UI 6 watch beta 2; what’s new

Samsung has rolled out the One UI 6 watch beta 2 update for the Galaxy Watch 4 and Galaxy Watch 5 , which has the version number ZXG3. The latest beta update shares the same changelog for both watches and mentions some major changes and improvements that enhance stabilization and performance.

According to the details, it improved the battery current consumption and the interconnection issues for some operators. It will apply to the LTE watches to make the connection more stable.

Along with the changes, Samsung has also shared the issue that needs to be fixed in the later update. It has been shared that the AOD does not turn off when not wearing a watch.

As a beta update, it will be obvious that it will arrive for the Galaxy Watch 4 and Galaxy Watch 5 users who have enrolled in the beta program. If you haven’t done so yet, you can still do it simply by following this process.
