Samsung is aggressively ready to launch its next-gen Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Galaxy Flip 6 next week at the launch event. Apart from these two, the brand is also gearing up to launch the slimmer variant of the Galaxy Z Fold 6, which could be on the floor as soon as Q4 2024.

The new report from The Elec says that the production schedule for the Galaxy Z Fold 6 slim model has been finalized. If the report is to be believed, the brand could introduce the device as soon as Q4 2024, and 400,000 to 500,000 units will be shipped by the end of this year. However, the brand will make the slimmer variant of the Galaxy Z Fold 6 available only in selected markets.

The Korean website also suggested that the forthcoming Galaxy Z Fold 6 slim variant will feature a larger cover screen and folding display. In light of this fact, it’s expected that it could feature a 6.5-inch smartphone display and an 8-inch folding screen. Whereas the actual Galaxy Z Fold 6 model is supposed to feature a 6.2 or 6.3-inch outer and a 7.6-inch folding screen.

On the comparison side, Honor Magic V2 features a 7.29-inch folding and 6.43-inch outer screen, and Vivo X Fold 3 Pro has an 8.3-inch folding screen and a 6.53-inch outer screen. So the slimmer Galaxy Z Fold 6 would offer similarly large screens.

Reportedly, a few years back, Samsung had previously developed a Z Fold device with an 8-inch folding screen, but unfortunately, due to the foldable’s thickness, it was never seen on the market. Noticeably, the new variant will lack S Pen support, but it’ll be thinner as compared to the actual Z Fold 6. It was also noted that some unnamed components will have ‘higher specifications’ than the standards in Z Fold 6.
